What we offer

At the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre, we can offer your group: Sailing, Raft building, Orienteering in schools and country parks, Windsurfing, Indoor climbing, Outdoor pursuits at local country parks, Canoeing, Outdoor climbing, Problem solving, and team building, Kayaking, Crate challenge and Bell boating.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

We send education information packs to all schools after booking. A lead instructor is also assigned to ensure specific educational aims are meet. In addition we specialise in GCSE, and vocational qualification syllabuses.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

We’re happy for children to take photos etc. 

Risk Assessment Details

We provide risk assessments for all our activities, and our Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge means schools are not required to carry out their own assessments. However, if they still wish to, we can happily facilitate visits from teachers provided they call in advance, and our staff will be on hand to give tours and answer any questions.

Pricing Information

Our cost for educational sessions is £30 per hour per instructor. Each instructor works at a ratio of up to 8 people. Supervising adults go free if they are supervising from the sides, or from the water if they deem themselves competent. If adults wish to be fully included in the sessions they do have to be included in our instructor ratio. 

Clothing Requirements

Comfortable clothing and a old pair of comfortable shoes that the kids wouldn’t mind getting a bit wet. We provide all sport specific equipment such as wetsuits, buoyancy aids, etc.

First Aid Information

Our instructors hold up to date first aid at work certificates.

Available Facilities

There are just vending machines for snacks and drinks onsite, but we do have a supervised lunch area for children to bring their own packed lunches.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

We have disabled changing rooms and toilets, a lift, disabled access to the building and to the water. Our instructors are fully trained, and we have specific equipment, to tailor our group sessions to meet specific needs.
