When visiting during the main season (March-November), we have a first aid centre open every day with several trained first aiders. When visiting in winter, we have other members of staff on site who are able to deliver first aid if required. We have a variety of food outlets to suit different budgets, several gift shops and stalls throughout the park, there are also arcade machines and stalls, ride photo booths and play areas.
Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
Flamingo Land is mostly accessible for people in wheelchairs. The majority of our paths around the theme park and zoo are concrete or tarmac and with ramps. We have disabled toilets scattered throughout the park. The first aid centre (open March-November) also has a changing bed if needed.
Opening Hours & Information
The whole park is open from 2 weeks prior to Easter until the end of the October half-term. From late November-March only the zoo is open. We open daily at 10am and close at 4pm/5pm/6pm/7pm depending on the time of year and the weather.
The students reactions to the animals - they were all very considerate of the animals and very curious about them. We saw some real engagement in some very hard to engage students.
Lindsay who delivered our educational activity was very knowledgeable and fantastic with my Key Stage 1 class. The children enjoyed handling the animal artefacts and remembered what they had learned when we got back to school. This has enabled them to write fantastic factfiles.
It gave the children an opportunity to see a wide variety of animals and the tour was very informative and the children had the opportunity to ask questions. The workshop was great and reinforced the learning which had taken place in school. The children enjoyed the opportunity to hold or touch the different animals. Also coming at this time of year meant we were the only school going round the zoo.
I took the whole year group over two days and the children were very enthusiastic. They were eager to stroke/hold animals which they wouldn't normally have the opportunity to. They had so many questions to ask and staff were brilliant giving educational answers.
The fabulous tour we were given was suitable and informative covering the required subject topics, excellent delivery and knowledge from tour guides.
The organisation from the park staff - timings, meeting the school on arrival. The information provided via email before the trip was very good. We felt very organised and secure with what we were going to be doing throughout the day.
