What we offer
Step into a world of creativity, imagination and stories at the UK's first Story Centre. On our newly redeveloped Story World, children can join our resident space alien, Hootah, on a story building mission. On his planet, Squiggly Diggly, everyone has run out of imagination, and that means no stories! Visit Hootah's special Observatron, climb a look out to the clouds and be inspired to create new stories for Squiggly Diggly.
In our immersive exhibition, The Fantastic World of Dr. Seuss, children are taken into the heart of some of Dr. Seuss's most beloved books and characters, including The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham and Oh, The Places You?ll Go! Seamlessly interwoven with the environment are a range of activities for children to explore language, literature and stories. Our unique, interactive spaces use creative play to engage children and support development of communication, creativity and literacy skills.
What makes us a great choice?
All of our schools sessions complement the national curriculum and are led by our skilled Story Builders, who are trained to support core language, literacy and key skills. All sessions are accessible to, or can be adapted for, disabled, SEN and EAL children.
We are a supporter of Arts Award and our schools sessions can contribute towards sections of the Discover? and Explore? awards.

If you would like to bring two classes we are able to offer bespoke sessions: on the Story World each class explores together before splitting up to work with a dedicated Story Builder; in the Dr. Seuss exhibition each class spends 45 minutes in the exhibition space and 45 minutes working with our Story Builders separately.

Risk Assessment Details
We are unable to provide a general risk assessment, however teachers are welcome to visit the centre in advance of the trip to carry out their own risk assessment. It is a good idea to let us know when you're planning to visit so that we can arrange a tour of the building.
