What we offer
Drive through the gates of Overstrand Hall, along the wooded driveway and you are greeted by the Lutyens Manor House, which forms the heart of this country estate. Originally designed in 1901 as a lord and lady's country home, Overstrand's many uses have ranged from entertaining royalty, to a miner's convalescent home. However, the centre now has by far the best use lovingly transformed into a superb residential educational activity centre.
With stimulating environments, state of the-art facilities and highly qualified instructors, we can work with you to go beyond classroom teaching and textbook theory. Accelerated learning by doing and the ultimate adventure activity experience; a chance to enhance education, put theory into practice and encourage independence, self-awareness and teamwork every day.
Our educationally rich modules and sessions are designed to complement current curricula and exam criteria and provide a stimulating learning opportunity outside the classroom for maximum academic benefit. Young people are equipped with the knowledge, key values and important PLTS skills to encourage them to think for themselves and adapt what they learn; to analyse problems and find solutions at every turn; to embrace challenges with enthusiasm and adopt a positive mental attitude to life and change.
Benefits gained are immense, from the development of a healthy self-awareness and empathy for others and their environment, to an increase in concentration and to a greater level of respect for those - both teachers and peers alike - who have shared the same journey.
With all programmes tailored to help you meet your objectives, and unlimited help and guidance available every step of the way, at Kingswood we can provide that perfect blend of excitement, creative learning and adventure to meet your needs and requirements.

This tranquil, stately setting gives way to an exhilarating adventure activity park set amongst pretty landscaped and wooded gardens close to the main building. It is here that pupils can face challenging adventures ranging from an artificial caving system, woodland problem solving course, low ropes, solve a whole series of demanding initiative exercises, fire an arrow or learn to fence. Our new high ropes course includes daring and challenging elements like Jungle Vines, Jacob's Ladder and High All Aboard.
The grand manor house with its Tudor Room and Knight's Table Room is complemented by a modern atrium which leads through to the funky American style diner and recreational areas. Sweeping corridors lead to clean and comfortable accommodation areas, excellent ICT labs and environmental classrooms. Coded security gates with CCTV and boundary fencing keep the site safe and secure.
