We do not offer any activities but have links with local activity providers who would be able to offer climbing, kayaking, ghyll scrambling and many other activities. We also have a holiday cottage in our grounds sleeping 10 people which can be used as extra accommodation or booked separately for a small group or family http://www.castleriggmanorlodge.co.uk/

Testimonials

“A retreat at Castlerigg offers something that young people will not get from anywhere else. It is life changing for some of the pupils, particularly at this stage of life as they begin to make life choices. You can’t buy and can’t teach what they receive here on a spiritual level and on a confidence level.”

“The School of Education at the University of Leeds has chosen to stay at Castlerigg Manor, as it provides a welcoming and unique hostel experience. Its location in the heart of the Lake District and the enthusiasm and dedication of its staff and volunteers, contribute massively to making our student’s annual Lake District adventure one that they will remember for years to come”.

Room Sizes and Facilities

We have 16 rooms in the main house 12 of which sleep between 2 and 8 students and a further 4 which are en-suite staff rooms.

Student rooms are mainly bunk beds, they are all on one floor with separate wings for male and female with toilet and shower facilities on each wing.
