What we offer
Located a stone's throw away from the city centre, Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) is an exciting, on-demand white water facility.
The activities and courses on offer, including White Water Rafting, Indoor Wave, Canoeing and Kayaking, cater for a wide range of groups and abilities.
As well as single activities or day or week-long courses, the centre also runs action-packed, end of term residential breaks. Choose from 2 to 5 day packages, featuring fun-filled sports including White Water Rafting, Indoor Bodyboarding, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Canoeing, Kayaking and Air Trail, and a stay at YHA Cardiff Central. The shiny new accommodation is only 3 miles away from CIWW and a 15 minute walk to the city centre.

Courses at CIWW are run by qualified, enthusiastic instructors who have vast experience of teaching water-based activities to school children. The instructors aim to ensure the pupils learn new skills and challenge themselves in a safe environment, while also having fun.

What is typically included?
All courses support Key Stages 2 to 4, and specific activities can be delivered as part of the GCSE, A-Level and BTEC curriculums. Each visit is tailored specifically to the needs of the group.

The schools residential break costs only £44.50, including activities and accommodation, per pupil per day (Sundays to Thursdays).
All the equipment needed to take part in activities will be provided, including wetsuits, wetsuit boots, buoyancy aids and helmets.
Swimwear is worn underneath wetsuits (in colder weather an additional non-cotton layer may be needed to wear underneath, eg a thin fleece or rash vest). A towel and £1 coin for the locker will also be required. Changing rooms and showers are on site.
First Aid Information
Qualified first aiders and facilities are on site.
There's a cafe leading to a large balcony overlooking the white water course; and a range of merchandise, including T-shirts and hoodies, is available to buy at reception. In terms of pocket money, £20 should suffice.
For lunch breaks, there are picnic benches outside when the weather permits, as well as classrooms inside.
Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
CIWW has disabled facilities, including accessible lift, toilets etc, and instructors with experience of teaching activities to disabled children.
