What we offer
Gliding up gently from ground level to a height of 138 meters (450 feet), the futuristic glass pod will take your students on a voyage of innovation and discovery, during which they will be inspired by what is possible when they aim high.
British Airways i360 was conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye, and has won multiple awards for innovation, construction and design.
From the giant glass pod, up to 175 visitors at a time can admire panoramic 360-degree views across Regency Brighton & Hove, the South Downs National Park, the English Channel and the beautiful Sussex coastline. On the clearest days, guests can see all the way east to Beachy Head (17 miles) and west to the Isle of Wight (49 miles). Discover more about the many landmarks visible from the pod using the viewing map and free app, which is available in 10 languages.
During their visit, schools can enjoy the free exhibition: ‘British Airways i360: How it Was Built’, to learn more about the pioneering engineering and cutting-edge design that places British Airways i360 at the forefront of British architecture.
Groups can also browse the shop for a range of educational items, gifts and toys, many created by local Brighton artists.
What makes us a great choice?
British Airways i360 is an inspiring venue for your next school trip and a unique experience for pupils of all ages and abilities. Children are free to walk around in the pod and enjoy the 360-degree views of Sussex, pointing out landmarks, ships out at sea and birds flying past. They can learn about the construction process and how British Airways i360 was built at our free exhibition and gain insight into how STEM subjects can translate into different careers and result in amazing structures and projects.
The British Airways i360 pod is fully enclosed and climate controlled, and operates year-round, barring a two-week shutdown for annual maintenance in January.
Brighton’s beautiful pebble beach is right in front of British Airways i360 and a perfect spot for children to enjoy the seafront or eat a packed lunch. Brighton Palace Pier and the Sea Life Centre are only 10 minutes’ walk away, and there are coach drop-off points nearby.
