What we offer

Just a short walk from Borth railway station and the beach it's a place where you can get up close and personal to over 100 different species of animals, birds, reptiles and insects to learn about them and gain a better appreciation for all kinds of wildlife.

We provide educational talks and shows on the animals, covering their needs, their behaviour, their habitat and the importance of conservation.

Join us for an intimate animal experience and a day to remember for all the family.

We offer additional Zoo Keeper Days, Individual Animal Experiences and the chance to Adopt an Animal.

What makes us a great choice?

We want to bring you closer to the animals during your visit.

We offer reptile shows, animal interactions, talks and feeding times with some of the animals.  Pony Rides that will be a fantastic experience for your young ones during the summertime. Using small Shetland ponies, these strong miniature breeds will take your children and babies around a quiet, calm and steady 3 minute ride around the top paddock. Wearing Western type saddles, the riders are able to hold on to the pommel and be led by the bridle. Children's safety is ensured as the pony is in the control of the handler at all times. All children wear fitted safety hats to ensure their welfare.

Pony grooming opportunities may be available if the weather isn't up to scratch! For all pony activities shoes and not sandals must be worn.

What is typically included?

We want to bring you closer to these animals and give you a better understanding of how they would live in the wild if their habitat wasn’t being destroyed.

School visits can be booked by telephone, and a special talk and demonstration can be offered with 'hands on' experiences with various reptiles and small mammals (depending on the age and interest of the children). Various animals may be included and times can be adjusted to suit. This talk is entertaining and educational and aims to add to and consolidate the national curriculum.

School parties are free to explore the whole Animal Kingdom at their leisure and are welcome to use our facilities or bring packed lunches which can be eaten inside or out.

Schools visit Borth Wild Animal Kingdom for a fun day out, but we also offer an educational experience which is enriching and stimulating. Encouraging an interest in conservation and animal welfare.

A special low price can be arranged for schools that intend to visit for educational reasons and a teacher goes free with every 10 children.

Our café serves a wide variety of hot and cold food, snacks, drinks and ice-creams. We are open to the public from 9am to 6pm with last orders for hot food at 5pm. Customers can use the café without visiting the zoo so if you just want to pop in for an all day breakfast or a hot cup of tea you are more than welcome.

There is plenty of outside seating, giving people the opportunity to eat inside or out, even if you bring your own food.

There are pony riding facilities.

Ball Pool - The ball pool is for children under 8 years old and must be supervised by parents or guardians. There is a seating area where you can bring food and drink from the café if you wish.

We are planning to build a new, larger, soft play area and café in the near future. So check our news page and social media for updates.

Outdoor Play Areas - We have two outdoor play areas suitable for under 12s. There is also a large sandpit for everyone to use.

Parking - Car parking is free and is clearly signposted. The front entrance to the zoo is for disabled parking only. The overflow car park, which is located near the Lions is plenty big enough for coaches and minibuses.

We will also be stocking seasonal goods for Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Once the new café is open we will be transforming the existing café into a larger shop, stocking local produce as well as a wider selection of gifts to suit everyone.

We are also starting an online store for you to order merchandise to help spread the word about Borth Wild Animal Kingdom! It also helps us to give the animals better lives.
