What we offer on a school trip
Let's go messing about on the river…
Schools, nurseries and colleges from around the world use our 45 minute River Avon cruises to complement study subjects or just for fun!
On the Rita Ellen wide-beam cruiser we have tables and chairs which can be used as workstations.
We also offer information and quiz sheets that can be used on the cruise and after. The quiz sheets can be tailored after a chat with group leaders.
On our cruises our onboard tour guides give an interesting and amusing commentary which touches on:
the history of Stratford upon Avon;
the development and management of rivers and canals;
the life, times and works of William Shakespeare;
and the wide and varied wildlife along the banks of the Avon.
The commentary can be tailored to suit the age of the students and subjects being studied.
Cruises depart from the Crowne Plaza hotel in the centre of Stratford upon Avon.
Students can bring picnics onboard or we can provide a packed lunch.
The Rita Ellen boat is fully accessible with a hydraulic lift for wheelchairs
Bancroft Cruisers are based at Crowne Plaza hotel a few minutes walk from the main coach park. Schools often book a cruise in the morning when they arrive as we are on the route into the town centre or Royal Shakespeare properties. Alternatively the cruise can be booked as the last attraction on the way back to the coach.
We are a friendly company very close to the town and welcome guests with limited mobility and wheelchairs users. Our commentary is informative and entertaining. It's not boring!
If children become restless we often put music on to keep them occupied and group leaders happy!</p
