Our aim is to make learning about healthy living fun yet challenging and we know that children learn best when they are engaged and stimulated, with hands-on activities. So we?ve designed our multi-sensory activities with children in mind, so that they have fun, learn lots and most importantly remember what they have learnt and put it into action. We also work with and involve parents, teachers and councils for maximum sustainability and impact.

What makes us a great choice?

Experience

Over the last 12 years, more than 750 schools have used A-life workshops to support their teaching, giving us outstanding feedback and a 5 star rating almost every time. Our tried and tested resources have been given the thumbs up by over 500,000 children who love the hands-on nature of the workshops and experienced coaches. In recognition of this level of experience we work as a commissioned provider for a number of councils and are a recognised supplier under the Healthy Schools London programme.

Engagement and Accessibility

Our hands-on workshops use lots of specialist equipment with uniquely designed tasks and challenges that are fun but educational, bringing the curriculum to life in a way that is not possible in the classroom, so that children can understand the information and remember it. It has been said that an A-life day is like having the science museum to your school! We bring a huge variety of audio, visual and kinesthetic resources to your school that will actively engage and stimulate all pupils, including those with language limitations, behavioural issues or mixed ages and abilities, while you can be assured that your curriculum and Ofsted boxes are being ticked.

Curriculum Coverage

Our workshops have been designed to tick a vast number of Science, PE, PSHE and cross-curricula objectives for you (please contact us for a specific curriculum map) as well as contributing towards Ofsted expectations that pupils will be offered a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes their good behaviour and safety and their spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development?. The Government has set out healthy living as a priority, with financial input into local educational authorities and schools with the aim to improve the quality of PE and sport? in schools and to reduce obesity? amongst children.

The A-life 7 Day Healthy Challenge!

Included with any Healthy Workshop booking is our great fun, interactive online quiz to follow up the teaching from the hands on healthy workshops and provide a sustainable tool to continue the teaching after our visit. As pupils log their activities throughout a 7 day period and answer questions about healthy living, fun characters reveal facts and tips, teaching children computer skills as well as covering much of the curriculum for PSHE and healthy living.

Community Learning

Our programme gets the whole family involved, helping children and families to make healthy choices and develop healthy habits. The home / school partnership is supported as we invite parents to join in with our 7 day healthy challenge?, encourage them to attend the workshops and provide letters to send home explaining what their children have been learning. Our programme connects councils, schools and families for maximum sustainability and impact.

Value for Money

We often teach 300 children in a school day making our workshops excellent value for money and our extensive curriculum provision ensures maximum impact and reduces the need for further costly providers or trips.

Areas Visited

We visit schools across the country in Wales and England, however, additional costs may apply in certain areas.

Testimonials

I would highly recommend A- life. The interactive ‘healthy lifestyle’ workshop & fitness session were both of a high standard & managed to cover so many different curriculum objectives in a way we would not have been able to deliver as a school. A-life delivered a similar hands-on experience to the science museum. Well planned & resourced, inspiring, challenging and created enthusiasm amongst the pupils – Great price and no hassle to organise. I will definitely be booking A-life again! 5*." Helen Rushton, Frith Manor Primary School

A fantastic day - the resources and organisation were excellent. All children could participate fully. 5* Emmbrook Infant school,

A-life’s motivational genius has achieved more in a week than I have managed in 7 years and I am so thankful for it. Please let A-life know they have worked magic on my son. 5*. Parent @St Andrews School, Eastbourne

I am extremely impressed with the A-life coach’s organisational and delivery skills. All pitched at the correct level. The resources used are highly effective and fully engaging, where children have been extremely motivated. Teachers have been impressed and have decided to use some of the style of lesson to use in their own teaching for maths and history type lesson. Cannot express enough how impressed we are with the whole project. Thank you. 5*.” Elsley Primary School, Wembley
