What we offer on a school trip
It’s time to rewild your students on a residential school trip like no other. Bioasis Missions are about reconnecting with nature whilst learning to live an adventurous yet sustainable life.
There are a variety of missions available, from entry level 4 or 5 day school residentials, perfected for whole year groups, up to specialist environmental science/biology missions and a flagship 10 day ‘Bioasis Extreme’ mission. If you want to get your students off grid, hands-on with environmental volunteering and biodiversity monitoring, taking part in adventurous activities and generally having a widely varied outdoor educational experience, then you’ll love the Bioasis.
Whichever mission you choose to accept, life in The Bioasis is about learning to adapt, solving problems, learning about species ID, undertaking challenging adventures – all
whilst contributing to biodiversity studies, conservation programmes and building individual and group resilience.
What makes us a great choice for education
Outdoor Education Meets Escape Room
The Bioasis is outdoor education, set in the world’s biggest escape room. With 1,200 acres of rugged coastline, salt marshes, ancient woodland, and sparkling rivers, The Bioasis is remote, beautiful and the perfect training ground to rewild the next generation. Its exact location remains a closely guarded secret.
An Adventurous Education
There is no better education than the great outdoors. Leave your comfort zone behind and enjoy a unique combination of outdoor education, adventure activities, conservation work and learning in harmony with nature. Personal development and resilience are natural outcomes of adventurous activities, outdoor living and completing missions together as a team.
Off-Grid Basecamp
Bioasis missions are based at a purpose-built basecamp – fully equipped with sustainable energy sources, comfortable multi-occupancy tents, a field kitchen, mess tent, composting toilets, bucket showers and a fire pit area. The location of basecamp may change depending on the seasons and the current threat from local industrialists.
Expect The Unexpected
Like life itself, Bioasis missions can be unpredictable. Not everything is always as it seems or goes to plan. Teams must expect the unexpected. Learning to deal with failure, deciding on appropriate actions and ethical decision making are all part of both life and a Bioasis mission.

Group Sizes Catered For
We can cater for up to 115 students (split across 3 separate basecamps, each of which operates independently).
Each basecamp is run on a private group basis and you will not be sharing with another group unless you specifically arrange/request this due to only getting a smaller number of students interested in a mission.

Due to the threat of unauthorized tracking by industrialist saboteurs, mobile phone usage within The Bioasis is limited. However, there are no restrictions on photography, filmmaking or audio recording.

Location Information
In order to protect the unique wildlife and nature within The Bioasis, its location is strictly classified. The Bioasis is 1,200 acres of rugged coastline, salt marshes, ancient woodland, and sparkling rivers – it’s remote and unfrequented by members of the public.
Room Sizes and Facilities
Basecamp is remote, located within an area of AONB, close to woodland, wildflower meadows, salt-water marshes, and a beautiful unfrequented river estuary. Basecamp is off grid, with solar powered electricity and water heating. Large tents, sleeping 8 to 10 in each, with comfortable camping beds are provided. Composting toilets and tree-hung bucket showers are located on-site. A secluded fire pit is the perfect place to discuss the day’s adventures. The lack of light pollution makes for great star gazing.
