Unmatched Outdoor Experience: Call of the Wild offers a unique and inspiring outdoor experience for school groups. Set in 73 acres of the scenic Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, our centre provides a safe, private environment to nurture teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Here, students can safely explore the great outdoors under the guidance of our experienced, qualified instructors.

High Safety Standards: Your peace of mind is our priority. Call of the Wild holds an Adventure Activities Licensing Authority Licence, is accredited by the Visit Wales, and are an approved centre for ILM and City and Guilds. Our permanent, highly qualified instructors are dedicated to delivering a safe, enriching experience.

Whether exploring nearby landmarks like the Gower Peninsula or hiking through the Brecon Beacons, we ensure students feel comfortable, supported, and immersed in Welsh culture and history.

We emphasise an immersive, hands-on learning experience in the natural environment, right on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons and Gower Peninsula. Our programme combines outdoor adventure with Welsh culture and history, and our dedicated Schools and Youth Coordinator will help tailor your experience to your school’s goals.

The bunkhouse sleeps 44 onsite with several onsite camping areas, catering for 150.

Our bunkhouse rooms are divided as follows:

Dorm 1 – 20 ensuite

Dorm 2 – 16 ensuite

Room 2 – 2 not ensuite

Room 3 – 2 not ensuite

We offer 3 and 5 day packages

3 day: £225+VAT per person – 1 staff member free per 12 pupils

5 day: £395+VAT per person – 1 staff member free per 12 pupils

If a pupil require 1-2-1 support we offer a half price place for their staff member.

A typical 3 day programme includes:

Day 1 – Command tasks, ropes course, team challenges and a night walk

Day 2 – Climbing, Gorge Walking and Orienteering

Day 3 – Crate staking activity and home

A typical 5 day programme includes the following: 

Day 1 – Command tasks, ropes course, team challenges and a night walk

Day 2 – Climbing, Gorge Walking and Orienteering

Day 3 – Waterfall or hill walk and caving

Day 4 – Canoeing, kayaking and raft-building

Day 5 – Breakfast and home

Evening activities for both can include: Night Walk, Orienteering, Singing with Camp Fire, Disco and Karaoke.

The cost is for sole use of the site, all safety equipment, accommodation, catering and transport between the centre and off-site activities. Additional costs apply for bespoke services and programmes.

We have a first aid station and all staff are first aid trained. There is no requirement to bring a first aider.

Optional shop, catered kitchen, dining area, wet rooms, toilets, changing rooms, showers, 24-hour security, social area, free WIFI.

Our packages are fully catered for all groups by our onsite catering team, this includes breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals.

The centre is open 24/7 including weekends and bank holidays
