What does your venue offer for schools?
The Bridge Command starships are fully interactive and allow a group of participants to co-operatively fly their own starship, managing all of its systems together as a team.
It is a powerful teamworking experience, where a whole group must work together to survive the perils of space, complete a mission and return in one piece. Learning to fly the starships together is a challenging experience that explores near-future science concepts of energy generation and faster-than-light travel.
It is the closest you can get to traveling between the stars whilst still remaining safely on planet earth.

What makes you a great choice for educational visits?
Bridge Command is an exciting opportunity to do the sorts of things you see on science fiction TV shows such as Star Trek, Stargate, Firefly etc.
It is highly participatory – all the crew need to make decisions together and proactively manage the ship’s systems to complete their mission successfully.
The decisions the crew make together often have moral consequences and really matter – affecting the direction of the story and its outcome. Our team of actor-facilitators will develop the story around the choices made by the participants to deliver a unique experience on every visit.
Group Sizes
We have two star ship sets, and can accommodate up to 15 young people on each starship at a time.
Photography, filming & audio restrictions
Photography is allowed, and filming is allowed before and after the experience but not during, provided everyone in the frame has given their consent to be photographed/filmed.
Risk Assessment
Teachers will need to complete their own risk assessments, but we can offer some help based on our own risk assessment of our facility.

Pricing
Pricing varies according to the time of day and day of the week.
Before 5pm on weekdays, you can book a ship (holding up to 15 people) for £350 which works out at £25/head with one free place.
After 5pm on Weekdays, or at weekends, you can book a ship (holding up to 15 people) for £560 which works out at £40/head with one free place. These prices are heavily discounted from prices available to the general public, and only available for educational groups. Supervising adults go free, but will not participate directly in the experience. Participants must be aged 10+
Clothing requirements
Skirts/Dresses are not recommended. Participants will be given a loose fitting flight suit to wear. These are sterilised after each use.
First Aid
We have a first aid station and qualified first aiders on site.
Available Facilities
We have toilets (including disabled toilets) on site, and each Starship has its own disabled toilet. There is a mess hall area where food can be consumed, but we do not sell food on site. We sell a small amount of branded merchandise, and soft drinks can be bought in the mess hall, so a small amount of pocket money is recommended, as is a packed lunch.
Accessability
We are DDA compliant with full wheelchair accessibility throughout the building and the starship sets.
We also have fully accessible toilets. We do not have qualified SEN staff, so please contact us if any participants have special educational needs. Learning to fly the starships requires good teamwork and computer literacy skills, so we may not be an ideal fit for those with severe learning difficulties, or those who struggle to communicate.
Opening Times
We are open from 11am to 11pm, Tuesdays to Sundays, but are sometimes closed to the public for maintenance or staff training, so please check with us before you make a journey.
