What we offer on a school trip Residential
The award winning Centre was established in 1982 and is based round a farm house and buildings in 25 acres of beautiful woods, fields and river valley. The only outdoor centre in the world we believe to have it’s own vineyard! It is a family run Centre and we aim to give every visitor the best outdoor experience they have ever had. There are many exciting, fun and challenging outdoor pursuits with a strong emphasis on team work and the environment.
We feel we are very different from most centres in our holistic approach both to our visitors and the environment. We try to keep the gardens as attractive as possible, growing all our plants organically. We have planted 10,000 native trees throughout the estate, reinstated hedgerows, and have rare breed sheep, pigs, a Shetland pony, a donkey, chickens and bee hives. We have a strong environmental ethos and have held the Gold Green Business Award for six years.
We have a wide range of over 40 activities and outdoor pursuits to suit students from seven years upwards. These range from canoeing, high ropes, climbing wall, two 240 metre zip wires over the river, assault course, archery range, air rifle range, low ropes, fire lighting, tree climbing, grass toboggans, raft building and racing, tunnelling, animal feeding, cooking in a clay oven, crafts, history, sustainability and river projects, problem solving games and tasks. As a Centre which was founded over thirty years ago we are very experienced and knowledgeable in what teachers are looking for in a trip, and constantly have extremely positive feedback at the end of their stay – this inevitably results in repeat bookings for the following year.
What makes us a great choice for education
We are a small family run centre and sleep up to 134 students residentially. Our customers really matter and we want to make sure that everyone who comes to our centre feels well looked after. The school groups can do all the activities onsite which means they have a very full and varied programme with at least five activities in a day taken by experienced and qualified instructors who stay with the same group for the whole visit. The meals are delicious, with much of the fruit and vegetables grown organically in the gardens, and the bedrooms are comfy and warm.
We have had schools returning for over 25 years. Because we are not a large Centre many teachers say that it is like coming home and they are delighted to see familiar faces every year. (Our return rate is over 90%)

Testimonials
My son came to Mill on the Brue with Marksbury School last week. I just wanted to say a huge thank you! He is normally a very fussy eater but informs me that he ate broccoli, cauliflower and sqaush! He also said that he had 3 portions and the last bits of the delicious tomato pasta! (Do you have a recipe for this?)
He has talked non stop since he came back about the amazing time that he had.
He has agreed to continue trying new food and have veggies on his plate! He only wishes that you could come and cook school dinners every day!
I just wanted to message and Thankyou guys for having my daughters class with you yesterday she had the most amazing time! We were so glad that they still got to enjoy a fun filled day of activities instead of what should have been a week. The roast at dinner time was highly regarded as well with 3 servings of the main and 2 desserts, my daughter was very happy! She loved all the activities and jumping in the river as well which she said was very cold but so much fun. So all in all she had the most amazing day making memories. Thankyou!!
