Do you have a clever clogs in your family? Is your child a chatter box, likes being in front of a camera and enjoys railways? This May half term, 27th May to 4th June, we are giving our younger passengers the chance to become a North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) child Vlogger who will be given the opportunity to review our upcoming 2017 events for free!

All children visiting the railway over the holiday, aged 4 to 15 years old, will be given the chance to enter for this one-off exclusive opportunity. To enter all you will need to do is send in a 3-5-minute Vlog of their NYMR day out this May Half Term. Vlog entries can be sent via YouTube (email the link to marketing@nymr.co.uk) or Facebook (Tag @North Yorkshire Moors Railway in your video post).

The winning entrant will then be invited to attend and Vlog at our upcoming events - 60s Fest (22 or 23 July), Annual Steam Gala (29,30 September & 1 October), Railway in Wartime (13, 14 & 15 October), Halloween Train (26, 27, 28, 29 October) and Santa Specials (2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 19 & 20 December).

Laura Strangeway, Head of Marketing at North Yorkshire Moors Railway, said: “This is a great opportunity for a budding star to get involved with one of Yorkshire’s most popular attractions. The railway is a charitable trust with one of its core objectives to provide education for all ages, so having an enthusiastic child vlogger will hopefully help educate what the railway is all about”.

The winner will receive a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) for each event. Tickets will be subject to each Vlog submission and are non-transferable. Closing date 12th June 2017 and the winner will be announced by 15th June 2017. Full Terms and Conditions can be found at .

North Yorkshire Moors Railway is one of the most historic lines in the North of England, taking visitors on picturesque journeys along an 18-mile railway line aboard steam and heritage diesel trains. SAFARI ACADEMY LAUNCH
In Summer 2017 we see the launch of our brand new purpose built Safari Academy! A purpose built eco friendly building ideal for carrying out hands on curriculum learning sessions with pupils of all ages.

In 2017 the railway celebrates 50 years since the formation of the charitable Trust (1967 - 2017) and to set the wheels in motion for this anniversary year, popular locomotive, Royal Scot, will steam in to the attraction and set off the new season in style.

Royal Scot, which was built in 1927, was the first in a new breed of steam locomotives, made by the LMS for their fastest passenger services from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. She was then rebuilt by British Railways in 1950 and went on to serve another 12 years in traffic on the West Coast Main Line. She was eventually retired in October 1962.

Those with a passion for steam locomotives should head over to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as it holds its annual Autumn Welsh Steam Gala event from Friday September 30th until Sunday 2nd of October.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is pleased to have hit a hat-trick with three steam engines back on track after overhauls. 80136 is the third locomotive to emerge from the ever-busy Motive Power Depot, running for the first time on Tuesday 23rd August.
