From performances of works by Shakespeare and other writers in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Theatre to a programme of Education work for young people from Key Stage 2 to Undergraduate level, the RSC has lots to offer for school groups in Stratford-upon-Avon

We offer full and half day practical workshops on any Shakespeare play or any play in the current repertoire, alongside a varied programme of events which can include Sixth Form Conferences, Primary Open Days and Writing and Adaptation workshops.

You can take a trip up the Theatre Tower, go on a tour or visit one of our exhibitions, which from 2016 will include a new exhibition in the Swan Theatre shining a spotlight on the RSC’s creative processes over the last 100 years.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

RSC Education aims to make Shakespeare’s work vivid, accessible and enjoyable for children and young people. We believe this means they should experience Shakespeare by seeing it live; starting it earlier and doing it on their feet.

Because we are a theatre company we enable children, young people and their teachers to engage with Shakespeare's plays and the work of other writers as artists so that they have the richest possible engagement with our work.

What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

Schools can choose from a range of options, including performance tickets, bespoke workshops, attending an event or just visiting our buildings, to create the most appropriate itinerary for the needs of their students.  Please call our Education Box Office specialists on 01789 403434 (8.30am-5pm, Mon-Fri during UK term time) to discuss your needs.
