The Chatsworth is a stone’s throw from Swanage Bay, perfect for schools wanting to discover the Jurassic coast and visit the seaside.

The centre is in Swanage, Dorset and has a rich tradition. Opened in 1972, it is made up of traditional Seaside Guesthouses. With the Jurassic coastline and open countryside right on the doorstep, it is an exciting venue for outdoor adventure and focused learning in a picturesque location.

With the focus firmly on Education, Inspiration & Play, The Chatsworth is the perfect centre for any age group of students, with superb facilities for outdoor adventure and coastal programmes.

Field Study courses take advantage of the World Heritage Site and rich local environment available for Geography GCSE and A Level students. Old Harry is just around the corner students do not have too far to go to study. Venture further afield for the natural wonders of Poole Harbour, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

The main building incorporates dormitory and recreational areas including an all-weather outdoor area, dining hall, as well as five study rooms and classrooms. Although made up of 5 separate buildings, the centre is compact and all the facilities are within easy reach. The centre has its own swimming pool.

We are in Swanage, Dorset  – a short walk from the beach and town centre and right on Route 50, the Purbeck Breezer

Why you are great for educational visits?

The Chatsworth can accommodate up to 210 students, sleeping in bunk bedded dormitory rooms from 4 to 10 beds.

The site consists of 5 separate buildings to sleep in with centrally located dining and recreational facilities. Schools and Groups are accommodated in their own individual buildings.

Children sleep in dormitory-style accommodation, with separate bathroom and shower facilities close by. Sheets, duvets and pillows are provided for all guests and teacher rooms are right alongside children’s rooms for extra peace of mind.

There is an all weather outdoor play area and indoor rooms for older students with TV available.

There is WiFi available throughout the buildings with ‘parental control’ in place.
