Description

The ARC is a purpose built residential centre located in the heart of the country. It is situated on the Ackers Adventure Centre site providing adventurous activities on the doorstep. It is a secure centre with CCTV installed. The centre itself has 9 bedrooms sleeping 2 or 4 in bunk bed rooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen, refectory area, recreation room and male/female toilets and showers. Outside it has a bbq and picnic benches.

The Ackers Residential Centre is just 2 miles from the centre of Birmingham with direct access via train and bus routes.


why you are great for educational visits?

The ARC is unique because it is situated on the Ackers Adventure 75 acre site making it an ideal location for those looking to do some outdoor adventurous activities during their stay.

Some of the activities on offer include Skiing, Climbing, Canoeing, Jungle Challenge, Zip Wires, Orienteering and Archery. The ARC is also well placed for visiting Birmingham and its many attractions including the Sea Life centre, Thinktank, Cadbury World and is many theatres, galleries and brand new library.

Is there anything you offer specifically for educational visits?

We can tailor visits specifically to meet the needs of the group and we can provide extra information if required.


Can you provide information regarding room sizes and room facilities?

Each room has either one or two bunk beds so 2 or 4 people per room. Shared toilets and showers etc but separate for male and female.

 

Are visitors allowed to take photos, video or audio, if appropriate?

Yes.

 

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

Risk assessments are available for the ARC and all activities.    


What is the cost of the accommodation?

Costs depend on group size, length of stay etc. Prices start from £300 per night.

Please list facilities available?

The ARC has a refectory area and recreation room that can both be used for eating, socialising or teaching. The ARC has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals etc. The Ackers Activity Centre which is a sort walk away has a can & snack machine. The centre also sells teas and coffee over the counter.


Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

First Aider on site during normal working hours. An emergency contact number will be given o be used for out of hours.

 

Are there disabled facilities?

We have a lift and disabled toilets and shower room.
