Description

The Team Camp would be your base for the event. There are toilets and showers at Team Camp, as well as covered seating areas, a main log cabin and a fire pit. It is located in the centre of Camp Hill Estate and provides an idyllic setting for an event of this nature. The log cabins can accommodate up to 16 people in each of the three. There is also a larger communal log cabin that is part of Team Camp which can be used for evening entertainment and a place to relax for both teachers and pupils.

We can also create a “Tented Village” where you would be pitching your tents on the field immediately surrounding the Team Camp area. This means that more than 34 pupils can be accommodated in the same area if needed. Nearby is the Adventure Playground and shelter building area. We can expand to accommodate bigger groups using additional Bell Tents. Being on a Private Estate the site is secure and has CCTV in place.

DAY 4 – DEPART IN THE MORNING

What are your disabled facilities?

We have a disabled toilet and wheelchair access to all the main areas of the Camp Hill Estate and this includes our accommodation facilities.

What are your opening days and hours?
We are closed from Saturday 23rd December – Monday 8th January. We are open for most of the academic year. We advise that you call the Camp Hill Office on 01845 567788 if you would like to make a booking with us so we can discuss dates for residential trips.

Do you have any testimonials from previous schools we can include?
Mr Waugh from Huntcliff Secondary School, Lincolnshire
“Camp Hill were extremely organised and accommodating, both before and during the two day visit. They were flexible in the way they organised the activities, provided the food and set up the sleeping arrangements to best suit our needs. The range of activities available at Camp Hill was extensive and we were able to discuss what would best suit our needs.”

Mrs Goddard from St Thomas C Of E Primary School, Huddersfield
“This was our second visit to Camp Hill, it gave the children an opportunity to be a leader, a coach, a team mate and most of all to just have some good fun. From the friendliness of staff to the organisation of the day everything was brilliant. The bit of rain we endured did nothing to dampen our spirits as the activities were such good fun!”

Mr Greenwood from The Dales School, Northallerton - A co-educational special school
“Camp Hill has been an ideal location for the Sixth Form students of the Dales School to learn new skills, build confidence, problem solve and develop their ability to work both independently and cooperatively in an outdoor environment. The lessons were facilitated in the natural woodland surroundings, providing a fun, and safe learning environment.”

Is there anything else that you feel is important and want to include in your information?

ACTIVITY CHOICES
Minefield
Your team are stranded on the wrong side of a minefield and have to negotiate the live bed of mines without hitting one.

High Voltage
The task is for the whole team to pass through the High Voltage grid without touching the wires.Tricky challenge but lots of fun!

Floodwaters
Your teams have been stranded on opposite sides of a lake deep in the woods (real not imagined!). Can you get the vital information across the floodwaters using only the equipment provided?

Nuclear Waste
A container of nuclear waste has been deposited in the woods. Your team is responsible for lifting the container of waste and depositing it in a safe housing. You will be blindfolded...you will rely completely on team communication.

Organisation Maze
Your team is faced with a large grid, across which there is one correct path. The team must find the correct path across the grid by trial and error, against the clock. There are strict rules, none of the team are not allowed to talk once the task has started! Not easy!

Crate Build
The challenge to earn the required points is for the team to build the highest possible tower using beer crates while suspended from the forest canopy.

Crashed Plane Rescue Mission
A plane has crash landed in the middle of an island and there is an unexploded bomb. This activity utilises a real aeroplane and 12ft deep moat to negotiate. One of a kind and unique to Camp Hill.

Traverse
Rope courses can be the ultimate challenge for groups and individuals. You must work as a team in order to complete them successfully. They include; Swinging Logs, parallel Ropes, Burma Bridge, Vines, Scramble Nets, Wild Woosey, See-saw etc.

Swing Bridge
Your team has to be transported above the woodland floor using barrels, a plank and a tyre suspended from the trees. The solution to the task is in the title.

Tyrolean Bridge
The bridge you have to cross has been blown apart and needs to be re-constructed as a matter of urgency.

Mohawk Walk
Can your team complete the section of wires without touching the ground? The teams use the ropes hanging from various positions and a nominated ‘spotter’ to assist.

Nuclear Fuel Rods
Your challenge is to insert the fuel rods in their correct housings. The problem is that only one team member can make it into the chamber at a time.

Bob Push
One of its kind! The official dry training track for the Olympians. With top class coaching, teams push a 2 or 4-man ‘Bob’ for the fastest time of the day.

Climbing Wall
At 40ft, our outdoor wall is one of the tallest in the UK. Exceed your expectations by climbing to the top, or as high as you can.

Leap of Faith
For a real adrenalin rush, try climbing to the top of a 35ft telegraph pole, standing on a platform no larger than 1ft square and leaping for a Buoy (just in reach).

Gun Run
The team complete the obstacle course with the Field Guns and limbers, breaking down the guns where necessary to complete each section, an exercise, which relies on the team to plan, communicate, support and work together.

Segway X2 Experience
Experience the unique feeling of riding one of our Segways, they are great fun and can operate on a variety of terrains.

Archery or Crossbows
Can you consistently hit the ‘Gold’ and record the highest team score for the day?

Footgolf
If you don’t’ know, Footgolf is like golf, but kicking a football around the course rather than hitting a golf ball.

Sky Walk
This is the most adrenalising walk of your life as you clamber 40 feet up a climbing wall to the Sky Walk itself – a very wobbly wooden plank and wire bridge. Take in the amazing view for a moment before you launch yourself into the air on our “MegaZip”.

Aerial Extreme Ropes Tree Top Adventure Course
The course grows in difficulty from the induction level through a series of exciting elements. They will be crossing wobbly logs, traversing wires using cows-tails and crashing through the forest canopy into cargo nets on a zip wire.

Quad Agility Tests & Obstacle Course
Think you can handle an all-terrain quad bike or complete a slalom course in reverse? Then try this event and put your co-ordination skills to the test!

Adventure Playground & Shelter Building
Let out the Bear Grylls inside of you and get adventurous in our Adventure Playground complete with Shelter Building and bushcraft area.
