The bedrooms are dormitory style for the children sleeping between 2 – 10 children in each with single and twin staff bedrooms interspersed amongst them. Please provide location information?

Hooke Court is located on the outskirts of the west Dorset village of Hooke, 4.5 miles from the market town of Beaminster.  The nearest large towns are Dorchester to the South (14 miles) and Yeovil to the north (12.5 miles)

All large vehicles, especially coaches, are strongly recommended to approach Hooke Court from Beaminster due to sharp bends and narrow lanes.

why you are great for educational visits?

Hooke Court, in Dorset, is the perfect choice for your school visit.  With over 20 years experience, and an exemplary safety record, we have created two unique study centres in safe, tranquil settings.  Each group is treated individually and time is taken to assess their needs to provide a range of stimulating educational activities with comfortable accommodation.

The historical settings of both field study centres are truly inspirational; a 12th century Manor House provides the centrepiece for Hooke Court Dorset and the 18th century Georgian Manor House at Hooke Court Wales stands proudly above the sea in Carmarthenshire.  These historical characters are used to their full potential to enhance the expansive range of educational programmes that we offer.

With a wealth of experience from primary to GCSE and A level teaching staff, our qualified and knowledgeable tutors have enabled Hooke Court to develop a wide range of programmes that enhance and supplement the National Curriculum allowing children to access learning at their own level.  We pride ourselves on providing excellent opportunities for children to develop their team work, communication and negotiating skills through stimulating and fun activities.

Beyond our extensive landscaped grounds at Hooke Court Dorset, just 11 miles away, lies the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and some of West Dorset’s finest attractions, which provide yet more opportunities for fun and exciting ways to learn and grow.  In contrast just a short walk from Hooke Court Wales you will find the most beautiful estuary where you can wander for miles on sandy beaches, explore rock pools and enjoy magnificent views of Llansteffan Castle.

Is there anything you offer specifically for educational visits?

Teachers packs are sent to groups before they arrive at Hooke Court to give them as much useful information as possible before they arrive. This includes risk assessments, room and building plans, kits lists etc. We recommend that teachers visit us before they arrive to plan their programme and familiarize themselves with Hooke Court.  On arrival teachers are given a welcome pack, which details the main areas of Hooke Court, first aid, 24 hour on-site assistance, etc.

Each group is catered for individually, which is why the pre-visit is so important.  This visit enables us to discover exactly what areas the teachers wish to cover during their time with us.

We provide fully tutored programmes that relate directly to the National Curriculum, lead by our own qualified and experienced tutors. Our programmes are flexible enough to customize dependent on the educational needs of each group. We provide comprehensive risk assessments for all our programmes.
