What size groups do they cater for?
As a rule, Clink caters for groups up to 100 pax, but the hostel is always happy to look into special requests for more guests as we might be able to help depending on the time of the year and the availability. Guests aged 12 years and over are welcome at the hostel (anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

Please provide location information?
At just ten minutes’ walk from King’s Cross Underground / St Pancras International Station (London’s main transport hub) Clink78 is in a great central location. From here it’s easy to access all of London’s main attractions, connect to airports and travel to other European and international destinations.

Why you are great for educational visits?
Students love the feeling of history staying in a former 19th century courthouse. The hostel still has real ‘cell’ rooms where prisoners would be held before trial. Charles Dickens’ connection to the building also makes for an interesting introduction to London in Victorian times.

Clink78 has some great social spaces which are ideal spots for getting your group together for briefings before you head out into the city. King’s Cross is well located to access many of London’s best libraries and museums. The British Library and The Charles Dickens Museum are 10 minutes’ walk away. The British Museum is 20 minutes by foot. The Science Museum, Natural History Museum and The Victoria and Albert are all easily reached on public transport.

Is there anything you offer specifically for educational visits?
Clink offers special group discounts on many of London’s main attractions, including theatre tickets and museums.

Clink also offers special group services like packed lunches and dinners (we have special rates for half and full board too), and can help you arrange transport from the airport. Ask the groups department for the Clink ‘Group Services Booklet.’

Are visitors allowed to take photos, video or audio, if appropriate?
Visitors are more than welcome to take personal photos and videos. For press photography or videography, please contact for further information.

What is the cost of the accommodation?
Prices at Clink78 vary depending the time of the year. Rates are lower in the winter months and we have special rates for August too.

For individual travellers, the hostel advertises special offers on their website.

Please list facilities available?
Hang out with fellow travellers in the TV / Film Lounge in one of the original courtrooms or cook and eat a budget friendly meal in the modern self-catering kitchen and dining area.

Clink78 offers a mixture of private rooms and dorms, some of which have en-suite bathrooms. Most rooms now have bunk beds with a personal light and locker (lockers vary in size from room to room). Bed linen is included and towels are available for a small fee (free in double and twin rooms.) Washing and drying facilities are available – tokens can be bought at reception.

Reception is open 24/7 and manned by friendly, multi-lingual staff who are happy to share their top tips on the city. They also run our TravelSHOP where you can buy discounted tickets for London attractions and other handy travel products. Night security is in place from 9pm and guests access the building and their room with a personal key card. A free walking tour leaves daily from the hostel.

For any over 18s, ClashBAR in the basement is the place to head for DJ nights, live music, pool / table football and great drinks deals.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
Several of the Clink78 staff are fully trained first aiders and attend regular courses to ensure their knowledge is up to date. However, it is always advised to bring a certified first aider when travelling with group.

Are there disabled facilities?
Clink78 is wheelchair friendly, with few disabled access rooms and bathrooms. There is a central lift in Clink78 which disabled customers can use to reach the rooms and other communal areas.

Please let us know at the time of enquiry if a member of the group is a wheelchair user so we can make sure that we are ready for their arrival.
