Wide, sweeping clifftop views, beautiful sandy beaches and pine-fringed grounds make this a fantastic choice for young people of all ages. There’s a diverse range of study environments to choose from along the North Norfolk coast and further inland on the Norfolk Broads, with plenty of educational opportunities available on-site too.
With stimulating environments, state of the-art facilities and highly qualified instructors, we can work with you to go beyond classroom teaching and textbook theory. Accelerated learning by doing and the ultimate adventure activity experience; a chance to enhance education, put theory into practice and encourage independence, self-awareness and teamwork every day.
Our educationally rich modules and sessions are designed to complement current curricula and exam criteria and provide a stimulating learning opportunity outside the classroom for maximum academic benefit. Young people are equipped with the knowledge, key values and important PLTS skills to encourage them to think for themselves and adapt what they learn; to analyse problems and find solutions at every turn; to embrace challenges with enthusiasm and adopt a positive mental attitude to life and change.
Benefits gained are immense, from the development of a healthy self-awareness and empathy for others and their environment, to an increase in concentration and to a greater level of respect for those – both teachers and peers alike – who have shared the same journey.
With all programmes tailored to help you meet your objectives, and unlimited help and guidance available every step of the way, at Kingswood we can provide that perfect blend of excitement, creative learning and adventure to meet your needs and requirements.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?
Although set in around 30 acres, the main buildings and activities are fairly close together, with walking time between each activity only around 3 minutes. Lively, safe and fun, West Runton is a centre which schools love to return to year after year, drawn by its seaside location and friendly atmosphere. The region boasts wildlife sanctuaries, famous fossils and the biggest skies in the country.
The Centre saw a major refurbishment and investment programme over the last few years, including a pagoda seating area, upgrades to student and teacher accommodation areas, with new windows and flooring. The centre also boasts a fantastic deck leading out from the diner for ‘al fresco’ meals, with a teacher retreat and new teacher conservatory to relax in and discuss the day’s activities.
The main building incorporates dormitory and recreational areas including an all-weather activity centre, cinema, entertainment hall, as well as 9 ICT labs and environmental classrooms. This is surrounded by quad and kart tracks, indoor and outdoor climbing facilities, archery ranges, underground caving complex and abseiling towers. The centre has its own swimming pool, perfect for Canoe Splash and evening Pool Parties.
The area surrounding the centre is great for stopping en-route for excursions, and we can suggest attractions to visit. West Runton is set halfway between Sheringham, and the Victorian town of Cromer, hometown to the indigenous like-named crab species. The beach is a short walk away from the centre gates, perfect for rock pool modules or beach studies.
