Description

Nestled amongst the creeks and marshes of the Dengie peninsula and surrounded by farmland, Bradwell provides a friendly and intimate setting in which schools groups can enjoy a variety of land and water based activities. The centre is located just outside the village of Bradwell-on-Sea, 56 miles from central London and set on the stunning Essex coastline, looking out over the Blackwater Estuary.

The centre can accommodate groups of up to 120 and offers high-quality residential programmes, from overnight stays through to five day/four night programmes as well as day-based outdoor education visit.

The nearest train station is Southminster and we are happy to arrange pickups from the station in our minibus, if required.

Activities available at the centre include archery, canoeing, climbing, crabbing, high ropes, off-road biking, power kites, problem-solving and sailing. All of the activities include numerous links to the National Curriculum so, whether you’re looking for activities to support the delivery of the curriculum or just an opportunity for your group to have fun, we can provide the right mix of activities for you.

Our passionate and enthusiastic instructors are able to engage with children and young people at all levels in order to motivate and drive their enthusiasm for the challenges ahead. Their clear style of communication and encouragement also helps to create bonds within the team as they look to support and encourage each other through each activity. Teachers and group leaders can focus on ensuring they are getting the outcomes they require and build deeper bonds with their group.

All of our activities can help to build trust, responsibility, confidence, interdependence and team work. Whether you are setting sail on the high sea or staying on land, Bradwell is sure to have a package of adventurous activities which will suit your required outcomes, as well as your budget.

As well as being a popular centre with schools and youth groups for over 50 years, Essex Outdoors Bradwell is also a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training centre, offering numerous professional qualifications in sailing and powerboating.
