Portals to the Past workshops on offer-:
Stone Age through to the Iron Age, Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, Saxons, Vikings, Tudors, Victorians and WW1 and WW2
Portals to the Past’s range of history workshops from Reception through to KS3 provide students with an experience designed to stimulate and encourage a love of history covering the National curriculum and adaptable to Nation Baccalaureate requirements.
Portals’ primary level workshops provide a real hands-on experience of the past. Our fully costumed workshop leaders provide schools with an accurate overview of the period being studied based on current archaeological evidence and historical fact, as well as their own research.
We offer a full day’s workshop, with period relevant group work and educational activities in the morning, which include a quiz, games, period artefacts and much more. Our afternoons provide the real fun after the morning’s hard work.
Our Reception, KS1 and KS2 workshops have been designed to complement many curriculum areas including Maths, Geography, Science and English, based around group work, with relevant educational based activities and learning experiences appropriate to the period being studied, and at a suitable level for the age of children involved.
