Description

Carey Outdoor Education Centre is located in the heart of the Dorset countryside providing a fantastic venue for learning and living in the outdoors throughout the year.

The centre is set amongst private woodlands and provides accommodation options both under canvas and indoors, in addition to a range of activities which can be tailored to the needs of the group or curriculum. Groups are welcome residentially and for day visits. Carey can provide full catering facilities, or groups can self cater.

Why is this venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Activities: visiting groups can benefit from a bespoke programme delivered by our experienced team, a shared delivery using your own staff and Carey staff as required or the group can be entirely self-staffed.

We regularly review our activity provision and have a number of new activities on offer both on and off site.

New activities:

•    Mountain biking, on site skills and confidence building sessions or hit the trails and develop technique and fitness.

•    Rock climbing, either on the climbing wall or venture out onto the Swanage cliffs.

•    Kayaking and raft building on sheltered lakes or head out onto the harbour, river or sea.

•    Archery on our woodland range

Plus:

•    Team building and problem solving

•    Natural shelter building, sleep out and cook own meal

•    Hammocks and Tarps overnight experience with hot drinks made on the Kelly kettles

•    Orienteering using our on site facilities or in the local forest

•    Low ropes challenge course

•    Traversing wall

•    Environmental and wildlife activities

•    Woodland crafts and art

•    Practical river studies

•    Sleeping in heavy weight, light weight and bunk house style accommodation

Camping at Carey Outdoor Education Centre really allows children and young people to connect with their natural environment.  They can see and hear birds and animals that they may never have seen or heard before.
