The Manor House works closely with the Blue Reef Aquarium so visits to the aquarium could be arranged out of hours providing a truly special experience for students and teachers alike.

Kayaking in play boats, sit-on-tops, or Canadian Canoes offer challenging experiences for young and old alike. For the more experienced Sea Kayaking in 18 to 21 foot sea kayaks is a great way to explore the coast. Cycle the Camel trail and explore the delights Padstow has to offer.

Whatever the requirements, whatever the group the Manor House has something to offer.

What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

On the whole our residential packages are all inclusive of full board accommodation, activities (educational/adventurous) throughout the day and into the evening, entry fees, equipment hire, professional instruction in each activity and transport during the trip.

The Manor house offers bespoke courses, holidays and training to guests wishing to experience the outdoors in the fabulous environment of Cornwall. Each itinerary is tailored to meet the exact needs of each individual group whether that is Outdoor Adventurous or Field Study Experiential Learning. Discuss your requirements with our team and we will provide you with an individualised program for you to consider.

Packages can be adjusted to suit most budgets and the Manor House team always encourages clients to ask if they require something a bit different; the team will always try to accommodate special requests.

Field Study Trips are very popular and could focus on any number of different aspects that Cornwall has to offer:

Coastal Areas - weathering, erosion etc, viewing stacks, arches and blow holes

Beaches - rock pool study, beach studies, marine wildlife

Economic Studies - affects of tourism on the local area, affect of Rick Stein on Padstow

Eden Project provides a vast array of study opportunities and we are lucky it is very close and we have a great working relationship with the Education Team. A number of studies can be made with or without the use of an Eden Workshop – Plant Diversity, Recycling & Global Warming, Fair Trade etc.

All arrangements are made by us to ensure that the time you need to spend on planning your course can be kept to a minimum. We arrange all the visits and activities intended for your course and all the associated costs are included in the cost of the trip.

Some schools also choose to use the Manor House as a Field Study Base organising their own study visits and activities. One of our rooms is often turned into a laboratory for marine experiments and the main dining room becomes a classroom complete with interactive whiteboard, flip charts and reference books.

We help with the planning and organisation of your trip to save you time!
