Younger explorers can venture into the swashbuckling world of Skeleton Cove, take to the skies in our Flying Nellies, jump around on Jumpin’ Jacks! Giant inflatable pillow or have fun in our Angry Birds Activity Park. Older children can shoot the raging Wild River Rapids, plunge down one of three giant water chutes on Falls of Terror before discovering the mysterious subterranean world of Raptor Attack and hurtling through our deepest, darkest forest aboard Europe’s longest rollercoaster The Ultimate.

Why you are you a great place for educational visits?
With over 40 rides and attractions for thrill seekers of all ages the excitement never stops and, best of all, while your students are enjoying themselves, you can relax in the knowledge that they’re in a safe & secure environment. We offer free teacher places, full risk assessments and, should you wish to carry out your own 2 hour pre-trip inspection, we also offer 2 free teacher preview tickets. There’s plenty of free coach parking too!

Do you have the LOtC Quality Badge or any other accreditation such as AALA?
Lightwater Valley has a VAQAS (Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme) accreditation from VisitEngland, the national tourist board.

What does a typical educational visit include?
We’re an awesome destination for educational visits as we make physics exciting! Roller coaster engineering is guaranteed to fire their imagination and we can offer interesting talks on all aspects of our business, including marketing and customer relations tailor made to your pupils needs.

Lightwater Valley Falconry provides a fascinating educational visit for students of all ages. Learn more about the enchanting Birds of Prey and how the team care for our creatures from nutrition to exercise. The team can also arrange special visits to schools, offering talks and even the opportunity to see some of the Falconry’s feathered residents up close. Remember, if your school is planning a visit to the theme park then Lightwater Valley Falconry is now included in your admission ticket.

What group sizes do you cater for?
Lightwater Valley can welcome groups of sizes – you can even hire the theme park exclusively for up to 5000 people!

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?
Yes – there are no restrictions at Lightwater Valley.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
Full risk assessments are downloadable from our website. Plus, once a booking has been made we offer 2 free teachers preview tickets for you to carry out your own 2 hour pre-trip inspection. Please contact us on 01765 635321 at least 48 hours in advance to arrange.

What is the cost of the visit?
School visits can start from as little as £11.00 per student depending on the date of the visit and the type of school (i.e Primary or Secondary). With 1 Free teacher place per 5 Primary students or 1 Free teacher place per 10 Secondary students.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?
Lightwater Valley is an outdoor venue so comfortable shoes and clothing are a must. With the British weather it’s probably a good idea to pack a waterproof too!

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
There is always qualified first aid on site.

Please list facilities available.
There are various gift shops and catering outlets throughout the park offering a range of items. Schools are welcome to bring packed lunches, however please note these cannot be consumed within designated catering areas.

What are your disabled facilities?

Theme park opens at 10.00am and closes between 4.30pm -6.00pm depending on numbers and weather conditions.

How to Find us:
We’re located 10 minutes from junction 50 of the A1 motorway. From here, take the A61 towards Ripon. On arrival at the ‘Clocktower’ traffic light junction, take the A6108 towards the village of North Stainley.
