Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre is a stunning watersports and visitor centre located in the heart of Crosby Coastal Park, Waterloo.  Forming part of the gateway to the Mersey Estuary, sitting alongside the internationally renowned Antony Gormley's "Another Place," Iron Men statues, this really is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The facilities here are first-class! From water sports, a fitness suite, a beautifully appointed bar & bistro, conference and banqueting, to 14 high-quality fully accessible bedrooms and bunkrooms  which sleeps up to 48, Crosby Lakeside has something for everyone. From groups of 10 up to 120.

On discussion with the centre team many of whom are qualified teachers work sheets can be made and educational themes and curriculum targets can be addressed.

How do you arrange a risk assessment?

Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre is subject to regular inspection by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) and our operating license number is L8637\R1853. All activities are risk assessed and reviewed regularly. All staff are enhanced CRB checked and appropriately qualified for the activities they run.

What does it cost?

Prices start at £35 per person for full board with activities starting from £90 for two hours for a group of 10.

Is specific clothing required?

All personnel and protective equipment is provided as part of the cost. Participants need to bring suitable footwear, towel, change of clothes and warm clothing.

 

Do you have first aid on site?

All staff and instructors are first aid qualified. The Centre also has a defibrillator which staff are trained to use.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?

Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre has a Bistro, galley café and vending machines for drinks and snacks. Packed lunches can also be provided.

Are there disabled facilities?

Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre is a purpose built disability outdoor activity centre. All equipment and programmes are fully inclusive and adapted to deal with a wide range of disability needs from mild through to severe. Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre has a full time inclusion officer who can discuss specific needs pre visit, and staff who are experienced working with groups with disability.

All toilets & changing facilities are disability friendly, the centre has a track hoist, mobile hoist & jetty based hoist. The building has been designed for wheelchair access and the fitness suite is IFI
(Inclusiveness Fitness Initiative) accredited.

What are your opening days and hours?

We are open 7 days a week all year (except Christmas and New Year).

Is there anything else that you feel is important and want to include in your information?

Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre hosts National teams for training and runs National Governing Body courses, both training and assessment. It is also hosts and is available for regional and national events, meetings and conferences and has residential clubs on its site. Please contact the centre for further information.
