The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead is the newest Snowsports destination in the UK. Home to a 160m Main Slope & the largest indoor lesson slope, the centre boasts perfect real snow conditions all year round.

The Snow Centre hosts a range of skiing and snowboarding Lessons for adults and juniors of all levels, Lift Passes, Freestyle Sessions and our unique Ringo Slide! All the makings for a fun day out!

A Day in the Alps Package

Take in the alpine experience at The Snow Centre, not only will each and every child learn skills in both skiing and snowboarding, they will have a fun filled day out that will not disappoint!

This unique package is jam packed from start to finish; start with a 1 Hour Ski Lesson, followed by a 1 Hour Snowboard Lesson, if all that isn't enough finish of the day with a fun filled Ringo Slide session. Whizz, spin and slide down the slope in a rubber ringo.

In between all the action on the slope enjoy refreshment in our Schuss Bar on the slope and a tasty lunch in the new alpine restaurant - The Lodge Bar and Kitchen to refuel before heading back out onto the slopes.

The Lodge Bar & Kitchen

The Lodge Bar & Kitchen overlooking the slopes offers a wide choice of traditional and alpine dishes, as well as snacks & a licensed bar with free WIFI – perfect for the teachers/group leaders to get some work done if they are not heading out onto the slopes with the kids. What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

At The Snow Centre we tailor each visit to your Group making it fun for everyone. If you are having lessons our instructors will guide you and your group through our level system starting on the Lesson slope then moving onto the Main Slope once you get to Level 4. For Ringo Slide activities our team will ensure the pupils have great fun with their friends.

What size groups do they cater for?

The Schools team at The Snow Centre will be able to create a package suitable for your group and for any group size.

Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions?

Yes children can take photos if they wish, although we do not recommend taking phones & cameras out on to the slopes whilst they are in lessons. If any teachers not taking part in the activity would like to go and take some pictures they will need to sign a media disclaimer at The Snow Centre and wear a high visibility vest whilst on the slope.

How do you arrange a risk assessment?

We have a number of risk assessments for all the different activities at The Snow Centre, these can be sent to you and are available on request.

What does it cost?

Ringo Slide activities start from just £7.50 per student, Skiing or snowboarding Lessons start from just £20 per student. We also have a number of lesson packages & courses available so you can come for a course of lessons over a number of weeks, speak to our team on 0344 770 7227 for information on courses.

For each 10 people booked onto the slope 1 adult/teacher can go free!

Is specific clothing required?

It is recommended that everybody participating wears a warm waterproof jacket & trousers and gloves are compulsory for anyone on the slope.

Why not add clothing hire to your package for an extra £40 which will provide everyone with a jacket and trousers on the day. Anyone participating will need to bring along their own gloves.

Do you have first aid on site?

The Snow Centre always has a Duty Manager on site who is a qualified first aider, plus all instructors are first aid qualified too.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?

As well as the largest lesson slope and the 160m Main Slope, The Lodge Bar & Kitchen offers a full menu offering delicious alpine & traditional dishes with snacks & a licensed bar. The Snow Centre has free parking and free wifi making it ideal for teachers/group leaders if they want to get some work done whilst the kids are having great fun on the slopes.

We can provide packed lunches & hot meals within your slope packages so the kids can refuel after their time on the slope.

Room Hire is also available if you want to hold team meetings, or revision sessions for the kids at a venue with a difference.
