Exactly what does your venue offer to educational visits?
ClipnClimb Chelsea work with a number of schools in order to help promote healthier lifestyles in children from EYFS onwards. We want to work with schools who are keen to embrace a creative curriculum, to reward notable achievements from children in addition to the physical achievements they will make at ClipnClimb Chelsea. This could include certificates for teamwork, overcoming shyness or demonstrating good manners!

With over 20 walls to choose from, and our 3 special attractions: The Leap of Faith, The Dropslide and the Stairway to Heaven, there is something for everyone.

As a visiting school, you may like a structured session, where we prepare activities on our walls that are designed to reward achievements not measured by academic success (eg empathy, courage, persistence, critical thinking). Or you may prefer an unstructured session, where children are encouraged to climb as many walls as they like, and to have fun!

ClipnClimb Chelsea may also be able to assist with fundraising ideas, eg sponsored circuits.

Where appropriate, ClipnClimb Chelsea will actively promote your school’s involvement with us from a marketing perspective.

Why you are you a great place for educational visits?
All our guests leave their sessions feeling a sense of accomplishment, and of course having had an enormous amount of fun. For those not climbing, we have our Gallery Café and viewing balcony, so you can cheer your friends on, whilst enjoying delicious refreshments.

Being physically active is good for us; it charges our batteries, exercises our bodies, challenges our mental abilities and the ClipnClimb Chelsea arena is colourful, inviting and fun!

What does a typical educational visit include?
An educational visit can be a structured or a non-structured session. Our team have had enormous success with climbers who have found the confidence to tackle walls they didn’t believe they could. We have worked with a number of SEND schools and alternative provision schools, and continue to nurture those relationships.

Non-structured sessions are certainly more popular, as the schools that visit us do so as part of a creative PE curriculum, or as a reward for exam success, or an end of term celebration.

What group sizes do you cater for?
Our arena can take up to 30 climbers, although at our discretion we can increase this slightly to accommodate larger class sizes.

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?
We have session plans available for our structured sessions. Each one has a theme based on rewarding achievements not measured by academic success. More information available upon request.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?
Climbers are not permitted to take any items into the arena, and we ask that pockets are emptied (for Health and Safety reasons). As long as there are no photography restrictions, we are happy for photographs to be taken by the lead member of staff. Our own staff can also take pictures (with permission) for our own marketing purposes and of course we are happy to share them with the school.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
We have our own RA, but are happy for staff to come down to carry out their own, by arrangement at a mutually convenient time.

Does your venue have an education officer?
Camilla Harrison manages the educational liaison for ClipnClimb Chelsea, so she is the first point of contact.

What is the cost of the visit?
We are delighted to offer schools/youth groups discounts. These vary dependent on numbers, and are only available during term time. More information available upon request.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?
We ask that climbers wear trousers/leggings and trainers. No open-toe shoes at all please.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
We have several First Aiders on site.

Please list facilities available.
Our Gallery Café offers a selection of delicious refreshments.
Depending on the type of booking, we can on occasion provide space for children to eat packed lunches. This is at our discretion.

What are your disabled facilities?
We have a disabled toilet available, and the venue is extremely user-friendly. Our team are able to assist more challenged climbers. Please contact us for more information.

What are your opening days and hours?
We are open 7 days a week, 10am until 6pm.
