The Kettlewell Hostel is a stylish Independent Hostel in the beautiful heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We can sleep up to 42 in eleven bedrooms, a nice large dining room, a great second-hand bookshop, a well equipped self-catering kitchen, a lovely lounge with wood-burning stove and a private garden to sit out in during the summer. There are dormitory rooms and private rooms, most with bunk beds and all have shared bathroom facilities. The hostel offers really good value, delicious home cooked evening meals, full cooked breakfast and a great range of local ales and carefully selected wines, get in touch for an up to date menu. We are in the heart of Kettlewell Village which is well served by three great pubs and a village shop. The Village Post Office is in our hallway, so the hostel’s doing its bit for the village too.

There is a large cycle shed and some of the country’s most fabulous riding including Park Rash, Fleet Moss and Buttertubs all right around the corner

There are lovely walks to be had right out of the front door including Great Whernside and Buckden Pike or you can join the Dales Way for a more gentle walk along the river Wharfe or over to Grassington. Kettlewell also makes a great base for touring the Yorkshire Dales and is an easy drive to Hawes, Malham or Skipton.

As well as the lovely walking around here we are well placed for day activities at:

All rooms share facilities, all rooms have a sink and shaver points, we have excellent free WIFI throughout the building

Only £16.00 pounds per person in a group of 40plus (minimum of two nights stays)

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
We are happy to help with pre trip assessment visits, please contact us to talk.
We conduct weekly fire equipment tests and we can offer a fire drill for your group, if requested.

We have a full menu for smaller groups, We have a dining room that can seat 40, so nobody will have to wait to be fed, we only use the best quality local meats from local sources. Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten free options available at all times. We ask for groups to let us know about allergy/food preferences information ahead of the stay. Group meals start from £12.00 head.

We offer a great cooked Full English breakfast for groups, using the best local produce available, including meats from Weatherheads butchers in Grassington, local free range eggs, locally made Yockenthwiate Granola.
Breakfast is just £7, a great way to start the day.

We can make packed lunches for your group, we ask for sandwich choices in the evening so the packed lunches are ready for you when you finish breakfast, we use the very best local bakery for the bread and home baked ham! Also includes: fruit, a juice carton/bottle of water, chocolate biscuit, Seabrooks crisps, homemade Flapjack.
Packed lunch is just £6/head, a great meal on the go!

We have a nice common room with wood burning stove and a fully stocked bar for the teachers to enjoy in the evenings! With free fast wifi throughout the building.

We are open all year round, reception times are 4-10 P.M. and 8-10 A.M.

Here is an example of of our menu, and the type of food that we serve here.

-The Full Yorkshire breakfast £7 - sausages made by Weatherheads in Grassington, Yorkshire free range bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans and local free range scrambled eggs.

-Vegetarian Full English breakfast £7 - Linda McCartney sausages, delicious roasted baby tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, and local free range scrambled eggs.

-Bowl of porridge served with brown sugar and cinnamon - £3.50

-Freshly baked croissants - £3.50

With any breakfast you can help yourself to Yorkshire tea, good Fairtrade coffee, fruit juices, prunes and grapefruit and all the toast you can eat with jam, marmite or marmalade… as well as great range of cereals including local Yockenthwaite granola.

Breakfast is served every day at 8am. Order night before.

Local ice cream tubs - black treacle or chocolate and seasalt ice cream, strawberry and black pepper ice cream or raspberry and sorrel sorbet. - £3.00

We are fully licensed, and have a great range of local beers for you to try while you are in Wharfedale.

We can also provide you with freshly made packed lunches, to be ordered the night before if possible.

Dinner is served at 7pm. Orders by 6pm.
