Why you are you a great place for educational visits?
The Warehouse is a great place for educational visits. We offer a range of exciting, adventurous and motivational indoor climbing and caving activities for children of all ages and abilities and with our expert guidance we work with you to create a fun, rewarding experience.

As a physical activity, Climbing is in a class of its own. It is a non-contact sport which helps build mental concentration, physical development and coordination. Climbing is appropriate for mixed-sex groups, single person or teams and can be as competitive or recreational as you like and is an inspiring activity that children continue to pursue as they grow up.

Caving is a unique, challenging fun experience. Our indoor Cave system is an adventure playground like no other and offers a realistic caving experience in a safe and controlled environment. With over 90 metres of twisted tunnels and four activity chambers, it features realistic sights & sounds and children can discover a world of geological wonders, including fossils, stalactites & stalagmites, ‘underwater’ pools and even cave paintings!

Our activities help promote communication and teamwork, and develop confidence and self esteem.

Do you have the LOtC Quality Badge or any other accreditation such as AALA?
We are a NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) accredited awarding centre.
The Warehouse are also proud members of the ABC (Association of British Climbing Walls) and the BMC (British Mountaineering Council).

What does a typical educational visit include?
We work with you to design a session that best suits your requirements, so activities, times, lunch, room hire etc can be fitted around what you need. As an example, a typical Half Day session would involve;

H&S Briefing. People split into groups of 6-12 and enjoy approx. three hours of exciting activities consisting of;

Caving, DigiWall, Auto-Belay Climbing, Ladder Climbing, Group Climbing and Bouldering. Each activity session would last between 30-60 mins. This would include a break for lunch in your own private Room or in our CafeBar.

What group sizes do you cater for?
We primarily cater for groups usually between 6-72, but can easily design sessions for groups of up to 90 people.

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?
No work sheets type documents. Can provide promotional literature via a brochure detailing the various options and activities available.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?
Yes happy for children to take photos etc. No restrictions as long as actions do not interfere in the safety of participants during activities (flash photography etc).

What is your process for booking pre-arranged risk assessments?

Does your venue have an education officer?
No designated education officer. Either General Manager, Jeremy Chapman or Dymph Zatorski, NICAS Administrator will be best to ask for.
