Why you are you a great place for educational visits?

Our facilities are for everyone, the centre was built with inclusivity in mind.  Everyone can train together and stay together during your visit.  We are the first in the UK to achieve this standard.  Our coaching team are always on hand to adapt their sessions and we work together to ensure every group gets a fantastic experience.

What does a typical educational visit include?

We are able to tailor each visit to the individual group attending however a typical day would include:

• A welcome and introduction from our coaching and guest support team

• A tour of the new facility

• Sports activities – usually up to around 6 different sports per day – these are sessions led by our coaching team

• Lunch in our dining hall

We are working closely with the education sector to ensure we are meeting the Scottish Curriculum of Excellence standards and have a focus on ‘Getting it right for every child’ within our sessions.

What group sizes do you cater for?

We can cater for up to 120 children on a trip at any one time

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?

Generally for day visits we do not provide work sheets but on residential visit all children fill in log books to record their trip and what they have improved on throughout.  We always welcome feedback at the end of the day through feedback forms.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?

Yes, they are able to do this anywhere in the centre and we have high speed wifi.  However we would ask that children are monitored by their teachers and are not using mobile phones throughout sessions.  We ask that preferably children do not have technology of this type with them but if they do then it does not prove a problem for us!

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

We are able to provide risk assessments to groups that require them, we have these arranged prior to any visit that takes place.

Does your venue have an education officer?

Please contact our Sports Programme Manager on 01475 674 666 to book.

There is also more information on our website: www.nationalcentreinverclyde.org.uk

What is the cost of the visit?

Our day visits costs £16 per child and teachers go free.  This includes 4 hours of coaching and lunch.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?

We ask that children come prepared to play sport – so PE clothing is fine.  We also have outdoor facilities so arrive prepared to be outside (weather permitting).

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

We have qualified first-aiders on site at all times.

Please list facilities available.

We have a café and dining hall.  Our dining hall is where the group will eat their main meal with us.

Our café is payable and we also have vending machines.

We also have merchandise available to purchase.

We would say no more than £10 per child as spending money but we usually allow schools to decide whether or not children are able to bring money with them.

What are your disabled facilities?

We are an inclusive centre and were built with this in mind.

Our accommodation is more than current DDA standard compliant and we have 4 extra large lifts and lip and step free entrances and exits to sports facilities.

We also have numerous disabled toilet facilities with extra wide doors and hoists available for those with further mobility needs.

We are able to tailor our sessions to those with disabilities and we also offer disability sport activities where requested.

What are your opening days and hours?

We are open 7 days a week.  Our opening hours are between 9am and 10pm every day.

Do you have any testimonials from previous schools we can include?
