Bouldering is a great activity to get students active, engaged and trying something new. Without the worry of ropes, harnesses and belaying they are free to try an adventure sport in the safety of our purpose built centre.

We can offer a range of sessions to suit your group’s needs, or arrange a bespoke offering based on your requirements. These can vary from one off taster sessions that are fast paced and fun, a series of sessions so students can learn to climb from our expert instructors, all the way through to the National Indoor Bouldering Award Scheme.

The centre is open plan and has a dedicated children’s climbing area that is perfect for introducing people to the sport. We have a full range of difficulties so can cater for complete beginners right through to competition climbers.

Do you have a video on YouTube or anywhere else that you would like to link to?
We have a ‘fly-through’ of the inside of the centre on google maps:

Are you on Twitter, Facebook or any other social media?

Why you are you a great place for educational visits?
We have expert staff that regularly work with children and are experienced in working with school groups. Our centre is very child-focused with an open plan layout and children’s specific climbing area.

Do you have the LOtC Quality Badge or any other accreditation such as AALA?
No. Neither of these apply to indoor climbing. We are associate members of the Association of British Cilmbing Walls.

What does a typical educational visit include?
Instructed climbing for 1-1.5 hours. Our sessions can be altered to suit the group so can be focused more on games and movement or structured around performance, climbing techniques and sports specific coaching.

What group sizes do you cater for?
For regular sessions with a taught element we can have a maximum group size of 6 students per instructor. For one off taster sessions we can offer up to 8 spaces per instructors. Multiple instructors can be arranged for larger groups but we generally advise a maximum overall group size of 16-18 to maintain the quality in the session.

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?
We can provide copies of insurance, the British Mountaineering Council’s information specific to children’s climbing and copies of all relevant information (activity risk assessment and child protection procedures).

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
We provide copies of our centre risk assessments.

Does your venue have an education officer?
No. All enquiries are made to the centre manager.

What is the cost of the visit?
The supervising adult is free.
Standard children’s sessions are £7 per head including shoe hire, but this can be reduced if either larger groups of students are booked or a series of sessions are booked.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?
We advise comfortable clothing that the participants are able to move freely in.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
We have qualified first aiders and facilities on site.

Please list facilities available.
Shop, seating areas, separate studio room, training areas.

What are your disabled facilities?
We have a disabled toilet and our main entrance is accessible.

What are your opening days and hours?
We are open 7 days a week:
- Mon-Fri 10am-10pm
- Sat 10am-9pm
- Sun 10am-8pm
We can arrange earlier opening times for school groups upon request.
