What does a typical educational visit include?
Educational visits at TCA are designed to teach students the basics of climbing technique and safety. An instructor will show students a variety of easy tips to move on walls efficiently as well as help them solve problems and understand holds in order to complete routes. We offer students plenty of time on the wall making it a very hands-on learning experience.

What group sizes do you cater for?
We can take groups up to 30, we work with them with 1 instructor to 10 students.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?
We’re happy for students to take photos and videos at TCA but phones and video devices aren’t allowed on the safety mats during climbing.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
We will provide risk assessments for teachers.

Does your venue have an education officer?
No. Please contact for further information.

What is the cost of the visit?
Costs depend on group size and length of visit, email or phone your requirements for further information.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?
Loose fitted clothing (such as jogging bottoms, shorts and t-shirts). Climbing shoes are provided.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
We have a first aider on site.

Please list facilities available.
TCA has a large cafe area which serves a variety of hot and cold snacks (including sandwiches), soft drinks and smoothies. There’s a cafe seating area where children are free to eat their own packed lunch.
We also have a designated children’s climbing area which allows for children and young people to climb together and on walls designed for them. This whole section can be hired out.

What are your disabled facilities?
The centre can be accessed via a lift, as well as stairs. We want climbing to be as inclusive as possible and encourage individuals of all abilities to give it a go. Please let the centre know of any disabilities when inquiring to book.
