Monkton Wyld Court is a stunning neo Gothic B&B/Bunkhouse. Nestled in the secluded Monkton Wyld valley and yet within walking distance from Lyme Regis and Dorset’s world-famous Jurassic coast, Monkton Wyld Court is a school trip venue with a difference.
Once a boarding school, and now a Centre for Sustainable Living, we give a hearty welcome to guests of all ages who wish to explore and enjoy our centre and the surrounding area and also give guests the chance to learn about sustainable living too.
We offer affordable group accommodation and home-cooked meals in our large Victorian country house with views of rolling hills, and also share access to our eleven acres of gardens, working dairy farm, woodland, grassy terraces and meadows.
Close to the Dorset, Devon and Somerset borders, we are located roughly four miles from Charmouth, Axminster and Lyme Regis, and half a mile off the A35. The nearest train station is Axminster. We are also only 35 miles from Exeter, gateway to beautiful Dartmoor, 38 miles from Glastonbury and 50 miles from Bournemouth. We make an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, which boasts a whole range of attractions.
A resident volunteer community live and work on site and there is an emergency contact person available 24 hours a day.

We have a visitors dining room for full or half board guests and also a self catering kitchen for those who wish to provide their own meals. Outside on the terrace are a number of picnic tables that may be used.
Meals, all vegetarian, are cooked on a wood-fuelled stove in the Victorian kitchen using organically produced and often fresh and local ingredients from our walled garden, orchard and dairy farm as well as other local producers. We cater for all sorts of special diets on request. We provide a serve-yourself breakfast of cereal, porridge, toast, eggs, yogurt and fruit. Hot meals are usually served at both lunch and dinner, but packed lunches can also be arranged. Lunch is £8 per person and dinner is £10 per person (under 12s are half price).
Other space available to use includes our outdoor classroom, kitchen and pizza oven which can be booked, together with a fire pit, ideal for toasting marshmallows and a sing along!
We have a small shop, selling homemade juice and jams, natural toiletries, organic wine, souvenirs and postcards and a very small pub serving local ale and cider.
