Exactly what does your venue offer to educational visits?
The Edge Adventure activities is a unique outdoor Centre as we off a huge variety of activities both on and off site. Not only do we offer fun adrenaline sessions of Segway’s, Quad Biking and Zip wire but we also encourage students to become involved with our orienteering course, bush craft and team challenges. We pride ourselves as a Centre of excellence with staff whom encourage students to expand their knowledge and skills with equipment and technique and also most importantly creating challenges for the students to push boundaries both personally and as a team. Located in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, we are able to harness the beauty of all environments, by taking the students off site to enjoy a day canoeing on the River Severn or a walk amongst the almost unknown hills surrounding us. They can also enjoy a day’s climbing off site and expand their knowledge on how to be a climber.

You group coming to us doesn’t have to be a large group, we cater for smaller individual groups who need more one to one attention. We have in place a secure network of instructors with years of experience both in the classroom and outside who are able to dedicate their time, attention and knowledge to those who need their confidence building or have never done anything like this before.

Every School coming can be safe in the knowledge that all our Staff are qualified by both governing bodies and in house trained with years of experience of outdoor education and will look after you to their fullest extent.
In the process of booking, The Edge Adventure will be with you step by step with our experienced coordinators who will be on hand to provide you with every bit of information you may need or any additional requirements you have. We take pride that we are not a machine, you will be greeted with friendly and personable staff with no problem too great or small to accommodate.

What does a typical educational visit include?
The Edge Adventure Activities appreciates that each group is different with their needs and outcomes. We will access your criteria and then design a tailor made package for you. By leaving the classroom behind, we deliver inspirational learning in the great our doors developing knowledge of the local area and environments. By learning new skills to help grow and nurture the children’s potential, we are not focused purely on academic achievements but enable students to mature in themselves and concur their own Everest. Which we have found with past school visits by coming to us we have helped students progress in their academia and focus restored in a school environment afterwards.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
All risk assessments and documents are sent out prior to your day with us and also any additional information such as insurance documents.

Does your venue have an education officer?
No. Point of Contact is Lily Porter whom is Booking Coordinator and will help with any questions.

What is the cost of the visit?
Our prices start from £35 per student with a choice of 4 activities in the day. For groups of 40 and over the teachers will be given a choice sheet of 10 activities. They will then ask the students to number these activities with 1 being the activity they really want to do and 10 their least. This will then be returned back to The Edge where the students will be divided into their activity groups. By doing this we can ensure that the students will have at least two of their top 4 activities choices meaning they will enjoy their day to the fullest. The students will also be given a lanyard for the day with details of what they will be doing and which session they are in to avoid any confusion on the day.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?
Outdoor kit, extra layers just in case. Dress for the weather

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
All of our staff are fully qualified in first aid.

We have a tuck shop available where the children can buy drinks and snacks. We have many picnic benches available throughout the site both under shelter and in the open.

We have limited facilities for disabled students

What are your opening days and hours?
Open 7 days a week all year round.
Winter Office Hours: 9am-4pm Summer Office hours 8am-6pm

The Edge Adventure Activities Centre is not just an adventure camp, we can guarantee that their experience with us will continue to see results afterwards. We strive for personal communication both prior and during your visit which we believe is what is unique about us as an Adventure Centre. With your tailor made package you will enjoy a day with highly trained staff who are passionate in the notion that this isn’t just a job, it is a lifestyle. All of our equipment is superbly maintained so you can be assured in the knowledge that your student’s safety is paramount.

By coming to the home of adventure in Shropshire, we can assure you that as a company we take the reins and lead a day of learning, personal development and enjoyment for your students. By widening their horizons outside the classroom you will see that once back in the class, the results of learning about the surrounding environment, achieving goals set before them and creating new skills within a team, their learning and quality of concertation back in class room will be evident.
