All staff are trained up to know about all major landmarks and local transport routes, staff also update our weekly notice board with everything from the weekly weather to current events in the local and surrounding areas. HOT tip of the week - this could be a shopping bargain, a show, or a new place opening. We also encourage staff to find their favourite places to visit so everyone who stays with us get true local experiences.

Staff are fully trained in general health and safety awareness. We have regular meetings and catch ups checking all members off staff know what to do in Mrs Potts in the event if a fire. Along with fire officer guidelines we run a weekly fire alarm test at 1pm on a Monday. Fire extinguisher knowledge is also regularly checked.

Full computer system training and Salto key activation training is provided for all staff members.

Do you have any testimonials from previous schools we can include?
I received all the feedbacks from the students and leaders (July & August mixed), and from the six different hostels that the groups visited each time during their trip (in Edinburgh, London, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool and Cardiff), your hostel had always been the favourite one! The students felt that it was “very British”, very cosy and loved it.

Is there anything else that you feel is important and want to include in your information?

We can be extremely flexible, if there is anything that your group needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.

“Good Morning, Hi, I’m Silvia. I’m hear at reception if you need anything at all please let me know. Enjoy the rest of your tour.”

Lets pop downstairs and drop off your backpacks in our trusty storage room. They will be safe there. We will make a cuppa tea in the kitchen (this is where we bake our cakes, in our fully equipped kitchen, think of it as your home away from home kitchen). We have a selection of teas that you can help yourself to from all around the world. My favourite is good old english breakfast and if I'm felling the need for extra cosyness a drop of sugar always helps. This is where our free breakfast is available anytime, day or night. Just help yourself.

Opposite the Kitchen is our relaxing dining area. In here you can sit and enjoy a lovely warm meal or a game of jenga.

At the bottom of the hallway is the laundry room. Some guests avoid this as much as possible... and hey, who can blame them. Who wants to do washing on holidays’s but its there if you need it.

Lets head up to your room, its number 6. The unique sign above the door says ‘five & six pickup sticks’. Karen has made your bed with lovely crisp, white, fresh sheets and bright, clean pillow cases. Your on the top bunk. All our beds are super comfy and made by the lovely Keith. I will leave you to get cosy and make yourself at home. If you want a bit of privacy you can close your hand made curtain. Turn on your reading light, and even charge your phone at your bedside. If there is anything you need let me or any of Mrs Potts helpers know.

Enjoy your stay.
