Fordell Firs National Activity Centre is owned and operated by Scouts Scotland, which has more than 100 years of expertise in outdoor education and working with young people.
Located on the outskirts of Dunfermline, just 40 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh, Fordell Firs provides a convenient, well-equipped base for school groups.
You can try Scotland’s largest manmade caving complex, reach dizzy heights on our infamous king swing, have a go at abseiling or climbing, and much more.
On a practical note, our brand new Sir Garth Morrison Lodge (open from September 2016) provides state-of-the-art accommodation for groups of all ages, and we’re located close to public transport links and supermarkets.

Sir Garth Morrison Lodge
This new accommodation has the flexibility to accommodate up to 30 people, offering en-suite adult accommodation and a large dining hall/activity area with a spacious kitchen, all on one floor. It also has facilities for visitors with additional needs.
The Henderson Building accommodates 40 people in 5 rooms of 4 beds, 2 rooms of 8 beds and 2 rooms of 2 beds. The building has central heating, toilets and showers on both floors and a large dining area and a kitchen. Sheets and pillows are supplied.

Camping: from £4.90 per person
Indoor accommodation: from £264 for a 2-night stay

Accommodation is self-catering but our indoor accommodation has kitchen facilities and dining areas for you to prepare your own meals. We can also recommend local suppliers if you wish to buy your catering in.
We have a classroom and a wet weather hall.
