Exactly what does your venue offer to educational visits?

The Doctor Who Experience is an immersive and interactive adventure! Your visit will begin with an exhilarating walk-through experience where you will join the Doctor on a journey through time and space, encountering some of the best loved and scariest foes from the TV series.

You will then enter the exhibition area where you can freely explore the wonders of Doctor Who. Whether you are venturing inside the TARDIS, getting up close to original costumes and props, or learning to walk like a Cyberman, you’re sure to find something to inspire your pupils!

The pupils can have their packed lunches in our onsite school room, or alternatively take advantage of our café serving a mixture of cold and hot lunches.

We also offer a FREE Doctor Who Experience Education Toolkit, which together with a trip to the Doctor Who Experience provides an exciting, one-of-a-kind opportunity for pupils to learn. The heritage and innovation of the TV show and the Doctor Who Experience provides a wealth of inspiring stimulus to bring a variety of subjects to life.

The Education Toolkit includes a range of cross-curricular activities which can be completed before or after your pupil’s inspiring trip to the Doctor Who Experience. Activities are supported by relevant and exciting imagery and video, to engage your pupils. The multimedia helps to facilitate discussion, draw out key learning’s and deliver lesson outcomes. You might prefer to deliver these highly engaging activities as focused tasks within a lesson, or as part of a Doctor Who Experience themed activity day or week.

Prior to the day, we offer FREE venue recces and downloadable Risk assessments to enable you to plan ahead.

A visit to the Doctor Who Experience confirms this, and pupils who visit will be inspired creatively, scientifically and historically, but will also have a fantastic day out – the perfect combination for learning.

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?

Yes - when booking your school trip, please request your FREE Doctor Who Experience Education Toolkit upon booking. Our Toolkits are packed with activities and resources to inspire learning back in the classroom. Developed by practicing teachers to deliver the Key Stage 2 and 3 curriculums, the packs are supported by inspirational imagery from the Doctor Who Experience and TV series.

The Key Stage 2 Toolkit supports topics across several curriculum subjects:

The Key Stage 3 Toolkit supports Design and Technology and includes a range of Product Design tasks.

The activities in both Toolkits get students designing and making their own Doctor Who sets, monsters, gadgets and more.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?

We are happy for children to take photos, videos or audios in the exhibition area, however no photos are allowed during the walk-through adventure.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

Yes we do provide risk assessments – please visit doctorwhoexperience.com/ticket-information to download your free risk assessment in both English and Welsh or alternatively, request one from contact@doctorwhoexperince.com.

What is the cost of the visit?

For a primary and secondary school visit, it costs £7.25 per student with 1 free teacher ticket for every 5 paid for students. For any additional teachers, the cost is £1.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?

No but sensible footwear is advised.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

The venue has a first aid room with trained first aider’s onsite. School parties with any specific medical or Fist Aid requirements are requested to communicate their own arrangements when making a booking.

Facilities include a the official Doctor Who shop where we offer a wide range of Doctor Who merchandise; the pupils can have their packed lunches in our onsite school room, or alternatively take advantage of our café serving a mixture of cold and hot lunches.

There is also a coach drop-off point in front of the Experience for school’s travelling by coach.

What are your disabled facilities?

The Experience is fully accessible for wheelchair users. We also offer an audio description and subtitled video of the walk-through adventure as well as large print copy of the Exhibition signage.

What are your opening days and hours?

Open daily 9.30am - 5pm (last entry 3:30pm) excluding Tuesdays during term time; during school holidays the Experience is open daily.
