Whitemoor Lakes Outdoor Residential Centre Staffordshire is One of the most spectacular, yet easily accessible settings of any outdoor education centre, we are able to accommodate groups from 12 to 293 people residentially, more for day events. Purpose built and opened in October 2011, no effort has been spared to provide an excellent standard of accommodation and imaginative adventure activities.
Whitemoor Lakes occupies a 25 acre grassland site at the end of a shallow 40 acre lake, with space for your own outdoor recreation pursuits and our own full-on adrenaline adventure activities.
Whitemoor Lakes is proud to be an approved RYA training centre and a BCU approved centre. Offering southerly views over pristine lakes, a favourite with migratory and indigenous birds, the centre is on the very edge of the National Forest.
With 78 en-suite bedrooms across 7 accommodation lodges, smaller groups remain separate, secure and individually cared for. While larger groups block book adjacent lodges, catering for a variety of group sizes and boy/girl mixes.

Situated off the A38 just 10 miles north-east of Birmingham, and only a few minutes from the M6 Toll Road, Whitemoor Lakes is adjacent to the National Memorial Arboretum. We are perfectly situated should you have time in your programme to explore the Derbyshire and Staffordshire borderlands.

There is a huge link between enjoyment and achievement and each instructor at Whitemoor Lakes is dedicated to creating goals unique to each individual. Private activity sessions where only your class or school work together encourages self-esteem and promotes community within your school.
At Whitemoor Lakes, adventurous experiences out-of-doors kindle enthusiasm in young people, develop their concern for others, their community and the environment. Their experiences at the centre provide the means for self discovery, self expression and enjoyment.

Whitemoor Lakes provides a range of school adventure and activity residential packages.
We tailor all of our programmes towards the needs of the group, building in elements of the curriculum whenever possible.
Whatever your aims, we can tailor our approach and review sessions to better help you achieve your school’s learning objectives.
Examples of our school adventure and activity programmes:
Action Plus – Action PLUS is everything ACUK is about - it’s fast, busy and fun but most of all it teaches young people that everyone makes a valuable contribution, actions have consequences and we all have perceived boundaries that really can be stretched - they will be talking about this for years to come! Best suited to pupils in years 5 to 7.
Junior Action PLUS also available for year groups 3 and 4.
Explore Residential – a unique 48-hour experience combines exhilarating outdoor adventure activities with engaging, energetic workshops exploring issues relevant to young people today. Perfect as transition residential for Key Stage 2/3 including PSHE-RE-PE.

All bedrooms are en-suite, with single or bunk beds. Bedrooms sizes range to suite 2 to 8 guests per room. Whitemoor Lakes’ accommodation includes:
- 7 internally accessible and secure lodges
- Modern accommodation that achieves the highest of safety standards
- Full en-suite accommodation for up to 293 guests
- 78 en-suite bedrooms
- Each accommodation lodge has its own lounge with private kitchenette and drinks facilities
- Every lodge also has one or more wet-room style en-suite shower rooms for guests with disability and access needs
- Your own dedicated tables at each meal ensuring your group benefit from the experience of sitting down and eating together
- 2 fully equipped drying rooms with dehumidifiers
- A high level of CCTV protection

What is the cost of the accommodation?
Our seasonal prices for full board accommodation start from £48.34 + vat person for a 2 night stay. Our all-inclusive schools activity programmes start from £69.00 + vat per person. School group discounts are available for accompanying adults.
Tailor-made day activity programmes are also available at Whitemoor Lakes, with Activity sessions starting at £91.20 (+ VAT) per group of 12.
Are visitors allowed to take photos, video or audio?
Visitors are allowed to take photos and video footage but this needs to be in line with our own company policy when other groups are on site.

Does your accommodation have an education officer?
We do not have an education officer on site.
Do you have first aid on site?
All of our staff are First Aid qualified. There is a dedicated First Aid room within the main building.

All school residential packages are fully catered and we can accommodate 270 diners per sitting in our beautiful Edmund’s Dining room. In fine weather guests can choose to eat outside on picnic benches or enjoy a pre-arranged barbeque cooked lakeside.
We have an onsite tuck shop selling refreshments and souvenirs and there are 2 vending machines situated within the main public area. We recommend children bring no more than £5 to the centre.
There is free tea/coffee available for teachers and group leaders, together with free Wi-Fi internet access in designated public areas.
Whitemoor Lakes offers a variety of meeting rooms:
- 2 large meeting venues seating 300 and 150 theatre style with lakeside views
- 4 break-out rooms seating 40 theatre style
- 2 portable speech PA systems available plus flipcharts, TV’s, DVD players and video projector
- Large portable television
- Televisions and DVD players in all 7 lodge lounges
- Full size sports hall
What are your disabled facilities?
Whitemoor Lakes provides facilities and activities suitable for the full disability spectrum. Used by many special schools, disability and medical organizations throughout the year, our assisted hoist enables wheelchair users to experience the zip wire and abseil activities. We also have an electric hoist to transfer guests from wheelchair to a bed or chair and when required, we can alter the height of a bed or dining table using special raisers. At Whitemoor Lakes we are passionate about providing pupils with opportunities to shine and then, with all they have learned about themselves and their peers, step boldly into everything the future has to offer.
We believe that young people can learn to ‘overcome’ and as their confidence grows, so they will develop resources within that can be called upon back in the classroom and in times of challenge. Through our instructed adventure activities, your pupils will push through their perceived personal limits and develop empathy for those different to themselves, so learning the value of team.
