Description

We are based on the edge of the National Trust estate of Felbrigg with easy access to miles of open countryside and an outstanding coastline. Our secure venues, with CCTV and 24 hour emergency contacts, and our professional, experienced instructors, make this the perfect location for bringing the National Curriculum to life through outdoor learning whether looking at erosion at Happisburgh, rockpools and semi-precious stones at West Runton or lifecycles on our unique Blakeney Day (with guaranteed seals) which is an unmissable annual experience for so many of our schools. We also offer a variety of different team building activities including Pirates and our famous Monster Trail as well as our themed Living History weeks which include Vikings, Romans and Evacuees. Programmes are tailored individually to each school's requirements and can even be linked to a theme of your choice if required (recent examples include Extreme Weather, Eco Warriors, Dragons and Detectives.) Our aim is to ensure that each and every child (and teacher) has their very best school trip EVER! This is outdoor learning at its very best.

What group sizes do you cater for?

20-90

Please give information regarding room sizes and room facilities?

We have a variety of different accommodation ranging from smaller rooms with 4-6 beds, to larger dormitories of up to 14 beds.  Most are bunks though those in the eaves are twins.  Each room has en-suite facilities.  There are separate leader’s rooms, either adjoin or adjacent to the childrens’ rooms, ranging from singles to 4 beds, almost all of which are twin beds.

What is the cost of the accommodation?

The cost of accommodation varies according to the time of year, time of week and group size but can be little as £89 + VAT for a 2 night stay.  We offer one free adult place for every eight children.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

We are a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge holder so all activities have been risk assessed already though we are always more than happy for teachers to come to visit and carry out their own risk assessments too.  Once a booking has been made, we offer a free bed and breakfast stay for 2 people to allow you to do this.  Fire checks/drills are carried out on a regular basis.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

ALL our staff (not just instructors) are first aid trained and we provide first aid cover during all activities. Overnight first aid cover is off-site but available on call at all times.  Our instructors carry first aid kits with them at all times and there are first aid kits at several locations on site.  We do also have a defibrillator on site. You will need your own qualified first aider for non activity times.

Please list facilities available.

All food is included in the price from evening meal on the day of arrival until lunch on the day of departure.  This includes breakfast with cooked option, packed lunches and a three course evening meal.

On each site there is room available for use by your group – classroom, pavilion or hall – during your free evening, as well as extensive grounds and play equipment.  There are also staff rooms available for your sole use.

Free wifi is available for adults only.

There is also a small snack/gift shop on site which can be opened on request.

What are your disabled facilities?

We have ground floor dormitories, bathrooms and classrooms to facilitate wheelchair access and we will move furniture to accommodate hoists etc. though the nature of a Victorian school means that some assistance is needed in certain places.  However, we do our very best to accommodate the needs of every child - and do all that is possible to adapt programmes, transport etc. to allow all children to safely access as much of the visit as possible. We also have two fabulous all-terrain wheelchairs. You will be amazed at what can be achieved!

What are your opening days and hours?

24 hours a day 7 days a week from mid Jan to mid Dec
