Exactly what does your venue offer to educational visits?

Whitlingham Adventure offers high quality outdoor learning, day visits and activity sessions to schools, college and educational groups. Delivering a wide range of land and water based outdoor and adventurous activities, with an educational programme for key stages 2 - 4. The centre also provides an outreach provision for on-site activities to KS 1 & 2, as well as teacher training.

Why you are you a great place for educational visits?

The centre is ideally located within Whitlingham Country Park, a gateway to The Broads National Park, on the outskirts of Norwich with excellent transport links.

We can provide nationally accredited skills courses or personal development courses, with bespoke programmes designed to meet your learning outcomes. The Centre is also a learning designation for Norfolk Children’s University, offering a range of weekend and school holiday adventure opportunities.

What does a typical educational visit include?

Each visit is designed around your learning outcomes and activities requested, with arrival and departure times arranged to suit your transport. Pre-visits can be arranged on request.

What group sizes do you cater for?

Up to 100 people.

Do you provide projects, teacher’s packs, work sheets or any useful information?

Educational groups information pack is available online and on request.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?

Photo’s and video of schools own children is allowed with relevant parental consent.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

Safety information pack with risk assessments is available to download and on request.

What is the cost: of the visit?

Education group rate is £44 per hour /per group of 8 pupils.

Is specific clothing required for the trip?

All relevant PPE is provided for each activity.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

First aid provision is available onsite with all activity instructors being first aid trained.

Hot drinks, drinking water and hot showers are available on site. Decked area under cover with picnic tables is available. Visitor centre and café within the country park.

As a modern, purpose build centre, all changing facilities are accessible, with level access to all activities.

What are your opening days and hours?

April to October: 7 days a week 09:00 to dusk.

November to March: midweek 09:00 to dusk.
