Hautbois Activity Centre is the perfect venue for schools and groups to come for a fun and educational visit. We have a 45 bed house, 7 campsites with room for 340 campers, a 48 bed Reedcutters Village and over 20 on-site activities waiting for you to come and enjoy. The Centre has been awarded the 'Learning Outside the Classroom' quality badge - we combine learning and safety into an accredited scheme, making it easier for learning facilitators to take school children on educational visits.

Friendly, experienced and qualified staff are on hand to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. We can assist with activity sessions, timetables, catering options, accommodation requirements and much more! We offer a wide and varied programme catering for all ages. Suggestions for additional events or requests for specifically tailored packages are always welcomed to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our customers.

Why you are you a great place for educational visits?

By visiting Hautbois Activity Centre you can put some fun into the National Curriculum – all our activities encourage healthy living and help make exercise more exciting. Activities such as climbing and canoeing encourage interaction with the outdoors and appreciation of the natural environment and habitats at Hautbois. Sustainable living can be seen in action through the environmental developments on the main house. We have several team building and initiative based activities that can help in the learning of new skills, increasing motivation and building team morale.

Hautbois Activity Centre is a beautiful 19th century house set in 28 acres of grounds on the River Bure in Coltishall, near Norwich. The activity centre boasts its own private cut onto the River Bure providing the perfect location for a safe introduction to water sports, or for more advanced trips along the river.

From small groups of 6 up to large groups of 200+ children.

Are you happy for children to take photos, video or audio?

Yes – as long as they do not photograph or video other groups who may not have the relevant permissions.

What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?

Speak to Ian Markham, the Assistant Manager, or Abbie Stewardson, the Senior Instructor.

What is the cost: of the visit?

Activity sessions from £32 for a up to 12 participants.

Room hire from £33 per half day

Discovery Zone hire from £20 per half day

Lunch from £5.84 per person

Is specific clothing required for the trip?

Will depend on activities booked – outdoor clothing including sturdy footwear and wet weather gear is normally recommended.

Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?

All instructors and staff are first aid trained.

There is a small shop onsite selling small mementos, gifts and snacks.

Visits can be fully catered by Hautbois Activity Centre or groups can bring a packed lunch.

7 days a week, day visits 9-5pm (flexible).
