Description

Why is this accommodation venue great for School Trips and Educational Visits?

Offering cosy and affordable accommodation at the heart of England’s most geologically diverse national park; Elterwater Hostel is the ideal choice for school and university field excursions.

Nestled within the impressive, glacially scoured Langdale Valley, the Hostel offers a perfect base for field study of some of the world’s best and most-accessible geographical and geological features. There is also broad scope for outdoor group activities, which can be tied into the curriculum.

Aside from the physical landscape, we are also within easy reach (by road or footpath) of a number of honeypot sites of natural, historical and cultural interest; including the homes of William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.   We pride ourselves on our strong links with the Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue team, and local activity providers as well as the Fields Studies Council, whose advice on both safety and educational matters is invaluable. Please get in touch to discuss your needs and we will be more than happy to help
