What does your venue offer to school trips & educational visits?

We are a large residential activity centre offering experiences Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing, Rafting , Zorbing and Stand up Paddle Boarding on our lake, Team Canoe trips alongside the more traditional style 2 man open canoes and single kayaks on the River Avon (launching from our site) in addition to this we offer a good range of land – based activities to include Pedal Karting, Orienteering, Archery, Climbing, Abseiling, Initiative exercises and challenge sessions using our inflatable challenge equipment. Our lake is a fantastic place to learn water sports as it is not too big to intimidate, but big enough to get that great open water feeling. Most of the lake is wait to chest deep, so great to reassure the more nervous participants that they can just put their feet down and stand up ! We are one of very few venues in the country that you can grab a paddle and walk to the river for a river trip (no transport required, once you are here).

What does a typical educational visit include?

Educational aspects to include environment discussions on river trips and awareness of safety management. We also have three fully equipped classrooms including a large function room overlooking our lake for any requirements schools may have (RE : exams or classroom sessions to link in with activities) We can tailor each visit specifically to the needs of the group.

Teacher packs / party leader packs are sent out prior to your visit with essential information about our centre and activities.

Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions?

Children are permitted to take photos of each other (from same group, if the group booking approve), also pictures of any areas within Croft Farm Water Park and approved sections of the R Avon. Pictures of other lake users / general public and staff working here is not permitted without prior arrangement

What does it cost?

2 night stays from £120 per person, 4 night stays for £235 per person (quotes are not VAT inclusive). This includes accommodation, catering and a full activity package. Teachers are free of charge, based on a ratio of one teacher to eight children.

Is specific clothing required?

Windproof jacket and warm clothing are advisable for the winter months, a good few changes and clothing options to allow for getting wet and muddy. Cover footwear for the water is required – all other water sports clothing is supplied (wet suits, buoyancy aids and helmets). A Full equipment list is supplied for all visiting groups.

Do you have first aid on site?

All staff working on site are 1st aid qualified and Croft Farm is and RYA 1st Aid Training Centre.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?

Games room (with some archade games), indoor and outdoor eating areas, large indoor marquee and conference room, tuck shop, 24hr drinks machine at water sports centre close to accommodation areas (a small amount of spending money is advisable, but not essential) , comprehensive CCTV security systems throughout our site, site security staff and private roads throughout the site. General public are unable to access accommodation and wash room areas available to groups staying with us. We have a fully equipped Gym with Sun bed and sauna on site, a large playground and plenty of field space for games out of hours.

Disabled access throughout our site, with disabled accommodation areas and wash rooms.
