Dundee Rep Theatre Scotland offers high-quality live theatre experiences for children and young people of all ages. From well-known, classic plays to adaptations and contemporary productions, we aim to offer something for everyone.

In addition to this, we also offer a range of engagement opportunities and resources which aim to extend and deepen pupils’ experience at the theatre and their understanding of the theatre making process and story.

What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

We can offer a range of participatory experiences at Dundee Rep Theatre which can include anything from bespoke workshops tailored to target a range of experiences and outcomes within the Curriculum for Excellence to tours designed to introduce the world of theatre to children and young people. What size groups do they cater for?

Our auditorium seats 455. We can take up to 30 participants in a workshop or tour at one time.

What can they provide you with to support your school trip or educational visit?

Dependant on the production or project we offer a range of resources which teachers and pupils can use to extend and deepen their experience at the theatre.

Can you take photos, video or audio? Are there any copyright restrictions?

No photos or video is allowed during performances. Should the children and/or teachers wish to take photos or video during a tour or workshop, this can be discussed in advance.

How do you arrange a risk assessment?

What does it cost?

The costs of visits vary considerably.  Our average child price is £9 but students at university in Dundee can see a play for £5.  Our workshops vary in price and are sometime free. 

Is specific clothing required?

Not normally, however if any special clothing was required the participant or student would be told in advance.

Do you have first aid on site?

We have First Aiders at Dundee Rep Theatre.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?

There is a café bar and restaurant. Yes there facilities to eat a packed lunch.

Are there disabled facilities?

Dundee Rep is fully accessible.

What are your opening days and hours?

Box Office opening hours are 9.30 – 6pm but when we have shows on the theatre is often open till 11pm

Do you have any testimonials from previous customers who have visited you on an educational visit?

Yes, these comments we after a school attended a performance of The Cheviot, the Stag and the Black, Black Oil.
