Stouthall Country Mansion offers a one of a kind experience. Owners Ceri & Eoghan Powell invite you to bask in the grandeur of their newly restored Grade II* listed Georgian Country Mansion. Feast on delicious local food prepared by our in-house Chef. Relax in our bespoke bunk beds.
Then explore our woodland, which houses our adventure activities. From Tree Climbing to Archery to our Muddy Obstacle course, there’s never been an Adventure Centre quite like this. In the evenings our fully staffed programme of activities will keep everyone entertained with sessions like Bat Watch (get up close and personal in a way, you’ve only ever seen David Attenborough do it).

Residentially we can sleep up to 72 (including visiting staff).

10 miles from Swansea city centre (and it’s mainline train to London Paddington). 11 miles from the M4. Regular public bus service from front drive to Swansea bus station.
why you are great for educational visits?
We offer a range of adventure activities; Tree Climbing, Crate Stack, Ships Ladder, Archery, Obstacle course, Bushcraft, etc., on our private Estate. We offer residential packages in our beautifully refurbished Georgian Mansion House.
All our courses are bespoke to meet the curriculum requirements of our guests. We also have a huge variety of wildlife; Bats, Badgers, Owls, Foxes, Stouts, Moles, Voles, etc. We always build opportunities for students to learn about and possibly meet our woodland creatures into our adventure programmes.
Is there anything you offer specifically for educational visits?
Educational visits are our raison d’etre. We tailor all our programmes specifically to each school or group. We work closely with visiting schools to link trips to the curriculum.
Can you provide information regarding room sizes and room facilities?
Rooms vary in size from 2-12. Our bespoke bunk beds are a significant step up in terms of comfort, safety and fun (you kind of have to see them to understand).
We have a bathroom ratio of 1:6, with a separate teachers facilities. Teacher’s rooms are dotted throughout the house adjacent to the children’s accommodation. Every room comes equipped with a plug socket per bed, robust wardrobes, all bed linen is provided along with spare blankets.
Are visitors allowed to take photos, video or audio, if appropriate?
Visitors are actively encouraged to share their experiences wherever appropriate.
What is your process for booking pre arranged risk assessments?
All our risk assessments and operating procedures are available for visiting staff. We are already approved by many local councils for educational visits. Pre-trip inspections by visiting staff are welcome. Our bookings team are also available to support visiting staff through EVC paperwork.

What is the cost of the accommodation?
Rates change depending on time of year. All prices quoted include one free teacher place with every 10 children. Shoulder and low season special offers are available. For groups of 40 or more, exclusive use of the accommodation is provided (for groups of less than 40, we reserve the right to room another similar school/group alongside)
Please list facilities available?
All adventure activities (Tree Climbing, Ships Ladder, Crate Stack, Archery, Obstacle Course, etc.) are provided onsite and included in the standard price.
A range of additional activities (Surfing, Sailing, Kayaking, Coasteering, etc.) are available nearby at an additional cost. All specialist equipment is provided.
All meals are provided by our in-house Chef (first meal is generally dinner on arrival, with a packed lunch provided on departure). Our dining room is a particular sight to behold. Our oval mahogany library (and its secret bookcase) is reserved as the Teachers’ lounge. Full bar facilities are available (for teachers!)
Free password protected Wi-Fi is available in the reception and dining areas. A tuck shop is available onsite (this can also be kept closed by request).
Do you have first aid on site or will the group need to bring a qualified first aider?
All Activity Instructors are First Aid trained. A qualified First Aider is available throughout the night
Are there disabled facilities?
Unfortunately as the property was built in 1793 we have limited accessibility. We have one fully accessible bedroom. This room can be accessed by ramp. This room has a bunk bed, so that a child in a wheelchair has the option to have a friend stay with them (thereby getting the same sleepaway experience as their able bodied peers).
A platform lift allows a wheelchair user to access the ground floor of the main house, with all its facilities (dining room, reception etc.). We have a fully accessible washroom adjacent to this bedroom. There is a teachers/career’s bedroom close by.

Is there anything else that you feel is important and want to include in your information?
We have recently run a number of Conference, Wellness and Team building courses for inset days to school teams. Our bespoke packages mean that the Senior Leadership Team and/or the full staff team can get together off-site in an educational setting with a full hospitality offering.
