Amazona Zoo in Cromer offers a unique and special day out where visitors can explore and learn about a varied and fascinating selection of animals native to South America.  Home to over 200 tropical animals, including Jaguars, new Jaguarundi ‘otter’ cats, Monkeys, Snakes, Caimans, Flamingos and Tapirs, the zoo is committed to helping visitors discover nature and providing education on conservation issues set within 15 acres on the north Norfolk coast. 

Also on site is an indoor play area ‘Jungle Tumbles’ for the under 12’s and outdoors there’s plenty of space for picnics with an outdoor play area including Jumping Pillows.

Amazona Zoo is a safe and educational day out with lots of animals and birds to meet as well as a 30ft educational yurt which is ideal for learning and holding educational sessions.

What does a typical school trip or educational visit include?

Feed times can be arranged for visiting groups where they can meet a keeper and have Q and A sessions.

20+ upto 100 in a group. Will have smaller groups as long as pre booked.

Yes – there are no copy write restrictions.

How do you arrange a risk assessment?

We encourage pre visits for teachers to risk assess the site this is free of charge. We can provide a general written RA.

Is specific clothing required?

Children should wear suitable footwear for walking around the zoo and playing in the indoor and outdoor play areas.

Yes.

What facilities do they have for school trips and educational visits?

There is the Jungle Café which sells home made food, drinks, snacks and ice creams. There is also an onsite shop selling gifts and toys.   There are facilities to eat packed lunches in the café or outside in the picnic area.

Are there disabled facilities?

Disabled toilets and all areas accessible.

What are your opening days and hours?

Amazona Zoo is open daily from 10am to 5pm from April to the end of December. Jungle Tumbles Indoor Play is open daily from 10am to 5pm from April (closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.) The Jungle Cafe is open daily from 10.30am.
