BADGE OF HONOUR FOR LOCAL WATERSPORTS CENTRE

EDUCATIONAL AWARD FOR LOCAL WATERSPORTS CENTRE

Bear Creek Adventure and Edgbaston Watersports have been awarded The LOTC (Learning Outside the Classroom) Quality Badge, in Adventurous Learning, the first outdoor adventure centre to be awarded this prestigious award in the West Midlands and the third only in the UK to hold such accreditation. The scheme will be the gold standard for locations around the UK hoping to attract schools, colleges and university groups and those specialist companies keen to illustrate that they can provide a safe and educational tour for pupils.

The LOTC Award recognises the commitment of schools in England in providing excellent and innovative experiences for young people in a wide range of learning outside the classroom settings, such as school grounds, on visits to museums, art galleries or farms, through adventurous activity such as rock climbing & water sports or on a cultural or language visit abroad

The Quality Badge is awarded to centres who have pledged to engage in an ongoing process to sustain high‐quality learning outside the classroom and who have demonstrated that they meet six quality indicators set by the assessors which include meeting standards for the information on offer, pupil safety and being prepared to work with teachers to ensure they provide schools with the valuable educational event they are after. Put simply, this assurance is the Kite Mark for schools seeking quality through learning.
